I've been trying to find odds on WGS being gone by Christmas but nowhere seems to be giving them.
Don't want to seem like a miserable b@stard but if we're out of Europe and 3rd in the league I think the wee man will be gone.
With the current team and proposed Championship signings, I reckon that's where we'll be.

So I might as well make a few bob for crimbo but I cannae find a bookie.

    Anyone know of one?

Very much doubt that Strachan will be gone by Christmas. Just can't see it happening. The transfer window isn't even over yet and you're criticising his potential signings, give him a break, he's still trying to get signings in.

big al i think were jumpin the gun a bit here mate, one bad result and his heads on a plate again, his signing policy isnt the best but he done the job when everyone was thinking the worst last year, lets just leave the jury out at the moment. and yea last year we got it easy but we won the league in record time.

Typical * from some people on here ....Dont people support their teams through times of need these days ...Remember you need to go through bad times to get to the good times .
I believe that Strachan is good enough to retain the SPL ...We need to get real and hope we get some decent money in from the CL .
Doesnt matter which manager you put in charge we still have the same players !!

Yer, and not much has happen and some people want to bet on when he will be out. Are you a real Celtic fan if you bet and try and make money out of your football club sacking a manager.

I'm sick fed up of people on this forum slagging GS. He won the double in his first season as manager. What's wrong with that. Get a * grip and stop being so negative.

it looks like some people want GS to * his job all the way making Celtic loosing everything this season and then say bye bye GS...

wouldn't it be better if amazingly GS managed to win SPL 2nd time ina row and make a great impact in CL so every Celtic fan would love him??? This is what we should believe in ffs! no matter how impossible it is...

    Agreed!

Only 2 games into the season and celtic "fans" are creating extra pressure by calling for the managers head. I realise the post was meant to spark a discussion about whether he will be here but * sake get a grip.

Well boo f@cking hoo! I never said I didn't rate Strachan or that I blame him for the football (apart from Telfer). The wee man's been given little to play with and is, at best, an average manager anyway. Not down to him at all, he's just another Lou Macari, in at the wrong time.
O'Neil was a good manager with a massive budget but the cards are stacked against WGS inheriting an old team and no money. Just think he'll walk or get into a fight with the board before the end of the year. And I plan to make a wee bet.

I don`t think Strachan will be going, i like him. However i do think that the board should start showing abit more ambition.

GS will find it tough this season, there is a possibility big Al came up with, GS falling out with the Board, and quitting.
However at this moment GS is not the big problem its those negative numpties at the helm!

One other reason that's making me think this way is the fans. I remember MON's first season and that Martin O'Neil song getting sung at every game. I've been to 4 matches this year and never heard his name sung once, even after we had won the league early doors.
Everybody needs a wee bit of love.

im on your side al..........I find it annoying the amount of people in here who attribute last seasons league championship to strachan...as I ve said before the "black sunday" team were determined to reclaim it ...rankers were the worst team in history....and hearts were in self destruct mode...even strachan himself admitted to being "very surprised" at being so far ahead in the league... I notice the strachanites avoid artmedia and clyde both financial disasters...I wont mention the meaningless cup ...only good if you win the other two.....as it stands we are only re arranging the deckchairs on the deck of the titanic .....celtic are a car crash waiting to happen ....we need to act fast ...if we go into europe with this squad ..hmmm.....anytime now im expecting the "we ve tried everything in our power to bring in the right players" speech......read as ..we offered peanuts and we got monkeys.

the fact they re signed varga is an admission of defeat ....b4 you say back up ...wait till we get injuries and the dangerous brothers are together again ...and what about du wei.....and telfer...hes about to make the same mistake again if he signs naylor.....can you imagine if mc manus wilson and boruc get injured?...todays team is ....the gang who brought you black sunday ....I suppose gs never seen that game ...because any manager in his right mind would have cleared that bunch of tossers out ....what did strachan do ...managed to replace jackie mac with his geriatric pal telfer..tried to make ross wallace a right back....really hes made too many mistakes already....

If he can get 3 or 4 million to bring in the 2 players we need then we might have a chance. The board has to take the blame if we don't.

I admit GS does seem to have an issue with defenders. With the exception of Wilson he's landed us with Telfer, Camara, Virgo, Du Wei, Caldwell, re-signed Varga and landed wee Wallce at full back.

We're good going forward and with another striker we'll be a bigger threat around the box. Sometimes though we'll struggle to score and that's when a strong defence becomes even more important.

I know he doesn't have a lot of money, but he has to realise the best teams are built from the back, not in reverse.

Despite his shortcomings he's still the Celtic manager and as long as that's the case we should get right behind him.

You named yourself well Green Submarine your pessimistic posts always leave me with a sinking feeling. Your next optimistic post will be your first one!

Who do you expect GS to sign with the sweetie money he has been given by the board.....C'mon.....lets hear it......What class defender and striker does he buy with the money the board give him?.....Who do you know that's willing to sign and play for a bar of chocolate and and a can of irn-bru that is Celtic class? Or lets look at another Scenario.....GS leaves...or gets the heave-ho......who would take his job?......What class manager steps into the Celtic hot-seat with the promise of no money to strengthen the team...Who?.....Name him please?

Something else for those who keep harping back to Martin's era, MON got out when he did because he saw the writing on the wall. He saw a team which was well past it's sell by date come to it's end. He also knew being the shrewd man he is that he had every last penny he would ever hope to get from the Celtic board to renew that team....The only way for him to go after the success he had enjoyed was down.

He took time out to take care of his wife....but come on, he only appeared inside Celtic park a couple of times a week anyway with Robertson and Walford doing the spade work.....In this era of easy communication via mobile-phone video conferencing and such do you not honestly think if MON was really as committed to the Celtic cause as a lot of guys like to dream he was that he couldn't have taken a year out, helping Geraldine AND looking after Celtic from a distance leaving Robbo and Walford doing what they always done anyway?.....He could have got a flight up here once or twice a month as needed.

It's not as if MON was out of sight during his absence from the game anyway with his numerous TV appearances as a pundit.....and he had already had talks for the England job months ago. Martin did a good job for Glasgow Celtic......BUT he is gone and in the pass....Strachan is what we have now. If your not happy with him blame the board. The guy is doing his best with the funds available.... get behind him a little for fecks sake.
