Not Actually that Crucial a Summer as of August 2023...beginning to now think everything isnt fine!

The expectation of constantly improving is totally unrealistic. Literally no club does that. Last season was unbelievable and we lost our manager and arguably our best player.

Things take time, not 2-3months. There could easily be a star in amongst the signings we’ve already made. Still a full month for more transfers. Lots get made in the last 10days.

 

Biggest concern for me is we're holding off on players deciding whether they want to come here or not, then we lose out on them and move on to 2nd, 3rd, 4th choice and end up with guys like Commper, Balde or other similar dross.

 

The expectation to kick on while being in our best ever financial position, having reappointed Brendan Rodgers etc is not unrealistic.

But this has been said ad infinitum.

 

If the fee for starfelt is anywhere near true £12m to £14m then thats potentially £35m (time benfica got their cut) and we have spent less than 1/3 of that, bought 4 projects by looks of it.

Got almost £50m cash in bank and also got guaranteed UCL cash * gross negligence if they don't get their fingers out.

If this is all true and we don't make some serious signings between now and the window closing then this years season ticket money will be the last penny this board will get from me.

True but if it’s obvious that you have two or three positions that need improved on you’d expect us to a least try.

 

the expectation to not go backwards is not unrealistic. Even if you fail to improve you at least try.

 

If we lose Hatate, that's 5 or 6 first team ready players we really need.

Wondering now if when Ange met with Desmond and the leech a few months back that the transfer details were discussed and thought na * that I'm away? But saying that I wouldn't have expected Rodgers to agree to it??

Early days of this window were wild! Now it just an utter borefest. Thought with the polish boy coming in that was us showing some intent but turns out he’s a replacement for Starfelt.

 

If you look at our rivals have even spent more than us even though it's cheap signings but if we want to progress in Europe we need better quality and that costs money and don't mind one or two prospects signings but the polish centre half is really only first team signing so far and we really need to get the finger out .

I think he is a replacement and we either use Scales/Welsh as back up or get a loan to buy in like we did with Jenz.

 

Rodgers said he expects a few in after the Ross Co game. Let’s see what happens this week before going into full panic mode. Team could look very different in a few weeks.
