For some reason I can't reply to the Norwich v Celtic thread that you have going, but I can start a new one!

Just wanted to say that you fans were top class today. Not that I expected anything different from Celtic.

I've got a few Celtic fans in the family, and I had a Celtic scarf as a kid sitting in pride of place alongside my Norwich one on the bedroom wall.

You would be surprised how many Celtic fans there are in Norwich, a lot of Irish heritage. One of the few cities in the UK to have both an Anglican and Catholic cathedral.

This is the second time that you lot have been down for a testimonial, you came down 11 years ago for the Tim Shepherd testimonial (and he was merely a club physio!).

There were even more of you that time (first time you had played in England for years, a few hundred Chelsea and Millwall fans tried to infiltrate the ground, they got sent back to London).

A lot of Norwich fans have had a soft spot for Celtic since that day. I've seen a few references to us not having seen fans like that before. Well, we have, we saw yours 11 years ago. We would have to go back to 1993 and Bayern Munich at Carrow Road to find something which rivals it.

We love our club like you love yours, once a Canary always a Canary, we were selling out in the third tier of English football. Not many other clubs would manage that, but if I were a betting man then I'd say that Celtic would be one of them.

By the way, I've seen a few references to trouble. A few people I know saw two people get arrested out of a group of eight skinheads. One had a Rangers tattoo on his neck, not Norwich fans, not Celtic fans, go figure.

Call them EDL, Huns, call them whatever.... but they weren't welcome by us, and they weren't welcome by you, put it that way.

And oi, Lambert isn't the only Celtic connection. Malky Mackay is also a Norwich legend ;)

Your welcome back, whenever you want. Our fans aren't as loud as yours, but we travel in numbers too, I bet you would see a few thousand of us at Celtic Park if you ever fancy returning the favour.

    Cheers for the great day!

I should add, thanks for making it such a great send off for Adam Drury. I'm not sure if he gets another year with us or not, but he will go down as a legend for us too.

He got some Premiership football this year after sticking with us in the third tier a couple of years ago.

He is past it now, but rewind the clock four or five years and he was a top drawer left back.

Never been the type to jump ship for money or fame, just a family man who has got on with it.

I'm sure the money from today will set up well for whatever he does when he inevitably retires soon.

Not many players in the sport deserve the pay-off, but if anyone does it his him. He found his club and stuck by it.

One of the games rarities and I'm delighted that he got a game good enough to attract a decent crowd.

Excellent post mate. I'm genuinely glad that our travelling supporters have made such an impact on yet another part of the world and that you enjoyed it.

If you're ever interested in seeing us in full flow again, I'd recommend tuning into a few of our games next season, especially away at the likes of Hearts and Dundee United, two of the bigger clubs in the SPL. The noise generated from the away ends in those games is often as loud, if not louder, than what you experienced in Norwich tonight.

Again, thanks for posting. Would definitely love for Celtic/Norwich to become a regular thing, playing against each other at the end of every season :50:

Good luck for next season too.

    Welcome to TalkCeltic, LifelongCanary.

I am glad that you enjoyed the match and that your experience of the travelling Celtic support was positive. I am biased of course but Celtic's travelling support is one of the best in the world. It is something we all take pride in.

Norwich are a club I have a liking for. I think I started to like them when I found out they were Ipswich's rivals(I don't like Ipswich). Your team has done very well in the league next season and I hope you can carry it on and do as well next season.

    Hail! Hail!

We have a very fierce rivalry with Ipswich, I can't say any more without resorting to expletives. :86:

Must be something about the colour blue right? :50:

Been looking out for and supporting Norwich since Lambert took over.

Hope you can stay up next season. Sometime the second season after promotion is the most difficult.

    All the best.

Made particularly pleasing after their neanderthals picked on our scarfers and women:
