According to SS earlier we had no Scottish players in the starting line up today for the first time since 2003, surely McGeady is classed as Scottish even though he plays for Ireland?

Yes I heard the d***head Jim White say that! McGeady may very well be a wannabee Irishman but by birth he's Scots whether he wants to be or not. It may be the lad has no problem with regard to being Scottish but it's like the media want to constantly rub our noses in the fact he doesn't play for Scotland. You can't make yourself anything other than what you are. My hubby is Scots born of a strong Irish background and he's like William Wallace reincarnated! In other words whilst he has a strong affection for his Irish Heritage he would never class himself as anything other than Scots.

Even if we had a team full of Americans, I wouldn't care as long as we were to win! Anyway, we have 10 or 11 injuries at the minute!

non-issue for me. i'm there to watch celtic, not scotland. i don't care if we're a scottish team, i just want to see the lads wearing green and white win. i'd pick celtic before scotland any day of the week tbh.

Our Scottish players are injured. So what. I don't know why everyone (read: the media) makes such a big deal about it

Anyway, it's not as if there's such a wide array of Scottish talent to chose from, is it?

I'd assume all the English watchers assume McGeady is Irish born and bred anyway.

Didn't realise it was that long. Considering we could have had a team since them made up of players in it such as Boruc,O'Dea,Naylor,Loovens,Virgo,Hinkel,Camara,Keane,Donati,Flood,Crosas,Sno,Gravesen, Stan,JVOH,Sammy,Skippy,Aliadiere and zurawski even before this season

I dont care where our players come from as long as the do the business on the park.

McGeady's Scottish and another 2 first team regulars are out injured (Maloney & Brown).

doesn't bother me in the slightest... as long as we win, its not his creed nor nationality that counts...

Doesn't fuss me in the slightest where they come from either just thought it was a strange thing to say given that it's not true.

I agree. As long as we win who cares who plays? If we are looking solely at Scottish players who have played for the first team, my team of the decade would be Douglas(still better than Mark Brown), Wilson(before injury),McManus and Caldwell I guess, Jackie, Lambert, Brown,Maloney,Burchill...* I'm struggling here

Don't care. Just more rubbish to try and deflect away from our win. Caddis came on after 20minutes or so anyway so * them.

Makes no difference to me. Aiden is Scottish as well and would class himself as Scottish, the media calling him 'the Irish winger' do so with an undercurrent of bitterness towards him.

He is a Scottish guy that happens to play a sport for another country.

Never seen the media question Goram,Gough,McCall,Hutchinson,Maloney(born in Malaysia) or quashie. TBH if Aiden had a Welsh background and chose to play for them he would not get half the abuse he gets. Ray Houghton is simular in that Scotland didnt pick him so he chose Ireland but he didn't play for us so no one questions him
