    NOT Strachan!

    Adriaanse, Moyes, or Johan Cruyff.

Need someone with a pedigree who has achieved something, even if it is only CL qualification - Moyes turned Everton around this season...

maybe its time for a change and why not give strachan a go i think he might be the man to stabalise us next season as the team needs major surgery and we will not give a big name money . yesterday will set us back 5 years and its going to be very difficukt to come back fighting next season given the movement inthe summer. the only positive thing about yesterday was that it will get rid of the part time fair weather fans who have spread like as cancer through parkhead this season to the point wher you are better going to away games for enjoyment and atmosphere

It is Strachan. By the looks of things it looks like it definetly IS Strachan. I think the wee ginger comedian would do an alright job at CP, so i'm willing to give him a chance.

  5. Tony Mowbray. Dunno whether he'd be up for such a step up though, but he's done great with the Hibs.

Strachan's a hun who has achieved nothing in the game other than to come out second best to Tommy Burns every time they played each other. He's not worthy of walking through Parkhead's gates.

Don't want Strachan either Lard but I'm not sure if he is a hun I heard he is actually a Celtic fan, but regardless of that he is not the man for the Job IMO. Somebody like Davie Moyes or Guus Hiddink maybe, but whoever he is he has got to have some kind of experience, Strachan walked out of the EPL in his first season because things got to hot for him. How is he going to handle the pressure of managing a club like Celtic, where you are expected to deliver at least domestically on not even a quarter of what most of these teams in England are receiving as a war chest ? (although granted our leagues is nowhere near as competitive or financially lucrative). The bottom line is however Celtic fans want results, and I don't think Strachan is the man to take the club into what hopefully could be a new phase in our history.

  8. I heard Gordon Strachan was a Hibee.

I can't see him at Celtic Park anyway. I thin if MON goes it'll be a foreign manager.

Strachan is unproven at a high level but we should give him a chance. Who has he managed Coventry and Southampton? He did OK with them I think but it would take a very, very good coach to do good things with such teams. Moyes won't leave Everton after taking them to the CL. And as for Mowbray, his first season was decent but it's far too early for him to move on. The other names been mentioned - who knows.

I'd be happy to Strachan take control of the Hoops. I think he could really do a job at the club and inject some fresh ideas. MON will go at the end of the season, I'm confident of that. Hopefully the new boss, whoever it may be, will get the funds to do something.

Well it seems inevitable that MON is for the off, so I'd like to say a huge thank you to him for bringing back some credibility to Celtic FC over the last few years, and giving us something to cheer about. The memories of Seville will last a lifetime. I hope his wife pulls through.
As for Gordon Strachan, I'm not sure, but I'm willing to get right behind anyone who walks through the door at CP. "We are Celtic supporters, faithful through and through..." C'mon the hoops!

Gus Hiddink is the man for us. He is a great manager and has done very well with every team he has managed. Not sure he would be willing to leave PSV though.

I would love to see Davie Moyes at CP aswell he is a Celtic man through and through

Strachan is past his prime what celtic need if we are going to loose Martin is to spend some real money attracting a top clas manager who can have as much balls as martin had and go face quinn and board and say if ya want a top class european team then start digging deep

There seems to be a lot of stories suggesting that MON will take a year out to care for his wife, and that Strachan will be in charge only for that year as a favour to MON. This would mean that our highly successful coaching team would stay in place and that Walford, Robertson, Burns and the rest would work with Strachan. My only concearn is that like Tommy Burns before him, MON has taken Celtic as far as he can, now more than ever Henrik's ghost hangs over the club, big signings are needed this summer!
Good luck to MON and his wife, hopefully we'll see them both back at CP in the not too distant future.

I think we should go for a foreign manager, someone who will have us playing great football, players fighting for positions, someone whos not scared to make changes and drop players are not consistant. I would love us to play the way you see the Spanish teams on saturday and sunday nights, pure football. I watch Sevilla few weeks ago and they were amazing in the first half ripped Real Madrid apart and this was them with their youth talent. We need to get back to the way Celtic should play 'Total Football'

Adriaanse -> has signed a contract with FC Porto today
Moyes -> won't leave Everton after he achieved CL-football with them
Cruijff -> stopped with managing teams after his heart operation
Hiddink -> won't leave PSV. He is PSV through and through

I don't believe that it is beneficial for the club if MON took a year off and then expected to walk straight back into the hot seat. In 2003 I was on such a high, as I'm sure most Celtic fans were, and firmly believed that it was the return to European greatness. But O'Neill and the board's blatant failure to attract new players has proved to be a spectacular downfall. The writing was on the wall last season and the season was only successful due to a wonderful win over Barca and an awful Rangers team offering no competition. With every negative we can create a positive and this sickening title loss should hopefully motivate the board to attract a quality manager. Definitely not Strachan though, he will be way out of his depth. We need to look to Europe and have a manager that will not be scared to make wholesale changes. Hiddink would be my choice but that will never happen.

No good telling us who you don't want!! Moyes and Hiddink are pipe dreams they are both doing very well and the chances they'd want to give all that up for what is in all honesty a very 'risky' job at CP are very slim.

In terms of Strachan I'm still undecided, but if he did come I'd give him a chance. I also reckon if he is lined up then there will have been a lot of back-room planning going on already in terms of players, transfers, budgets etc.

Thou to be honest I would like to see Tommy Burns come back. If anything else at least we'd get to see some exciting football again instead of the dross that's been on display this season. And who knows with a bit of a budget he could make McLeishs life *!!

    Hail Hail!!

What about George Burley of Derby County? A big favorite for relegation, but he took them to the play-offs? He did the same with Ipswich.
