    Or give notice of non-renewal..
    (By either party)

There may be a notice period. Eg 3 months - so if it’s all going *-up by March next year the club can end it in June.

    Depends on the detail.

Doesn’t sound like he’s being backed with the resounding confidence Mr Lawwell has been oozing since Saturday .

I think that was probably the reason for Rodgers signing the longer term deal tbh.

Us plebs thought it was Brendan committing for the 10 when in actual fact both parties were making sure the club was compensated

Only a new manager appointment can be a negative.

Would that not make it a 3 month rolling contract?

    All about the collective
9m from Leicester buying out Rodgers long term deal and a guy sacked off Bolton and ran from Hibs on a 12 month roller as replacement . Lawell has peaked today.

Sort of ... I suppose in terms of the bottom line if either side wants to end it.. but the ‘proposed’ term would be 12 months.

Is any football managers job safe beyond a few months anyway? They can be sacked when needed and can work their ticket out easy enough as well when it suits, just as Rodgers did.

Lawwell and Desmond knew that Lenny would jump at the job no matter what terms they threw at him... salary, contract, transfer kitty, coaching staff...

I think he could find he has just as big a battle to fight off-field than on it this coming season.

CL money, Dembele money, Armstrong, VVD sell on, Rodgers money, ST money...

No reason we can't have at least a 10m net spend this window.

Reckon there's any chance we do, though? I think it's more likely we don't spend a penny on transfer fees (sticking to loans, frees and compensation deals) than it is we spend £10mil net.

History suggests we won't but I live in hope.

Blind, stupid, hit myself repeatedly with a blunt instrument hope, but hope nontheless

You forgot the Rodgers money.. £9m + £40k p/w off the wage bill.

There really is absolutely no excuse for not backing Lennon. We've not spent any of that money on an expensive manager.

Never mind me evidently I'm a blind *

Can't get excited about this coming season, I would have preferred someone other than NL but he is here and so you give him your backing. You expect him to bring in his own backroom team but then you see the club being * tight as * and you just know there's gonne be little money for players and less chance of NL getting the chance to bring his own players in to suit the system he wants to play. This isn't a slagging NL opinion, the man is a legend, it's the * board doing what the board do best. So forgive me for not being overly happy at the moment. Hope I'm proved wrong though.

12 month rolling contract. No wonder all the other managers files were never looked at.

Why look for someone else when you can get someone in on the cheap.

Lawwells bonus is gonna be good this year.

You would think with Lawwells bullshit the other day bugging up Lennon he would have been offered a three year deal?

Right, now that's it confirmed the bickering should be left behind. Time for Lawwell to get the finger out and back the man.

If we can do our summer dealings well and start the UCL qualifiers and domestic season well then the club will start pulling in the one direction again. If we * about with bids, lose out on targets and try to do everything on the cheap then we're setting him up for a fail and the fall-out will be biblical. No excuses this time.

Lenny is now the Manager, whether you wanted him in or not( he wasn't my first choice) we all have to get behind him. 2 things I want to see happen, Someone to work along side Lenny, maybe Parker back as I don't think John Kennedy is good enough although he has stepped up a bit since Rodgers went. I also want to see the board back him properly. Get players that Lenny wants in quickly without dithering of the price, If we spend in the needed areas we will easily get it back with CL Group stage qualification. If the board don't back him, next season has disaster written all over it.
