MURPHY WASTE OF £1.5MIL ? [Murphy threads merged]

Daryl murphy from what ive seen of him at sunderland and celtic dosent look up to celtic standard feel the money would have been better spent on john ruddy 300k scott sinclair 500k eagles 1mil 3 better players for round about the same price. The guy will do * all for celtic !

 

Give him a chance. He scored against Arsenal so don't be too pessimistic.

How many times you seen him play exactly?

He's not going to be a regular starter, he's decent back-up - that's what he was bought for. He's a squad players who will give his all for the club, that's all.

Saying that, he needs to be given a fair chance before being branded a waste of money.

 

Nice to see supporters refraining from judging a player until they see what he can actually do in a Celtic top

 

hes backup. we are still to see any of him too--give him a run of games before you judge. although i do agree that 1.5 mil is too much for a backup.

 

yip, got to see what he can do up here first. I think if given the chance he could really make a go of it. we have been playing very well at the moment so it's going to be hard for him to push into a winning team.

 

he'll prove his worth given the rough and tumble nature of the spl. Hes a strong guy and we may have to call on this!

hes hardly had a game and already people want him out. this guy offers something to the team that our other strikers dont. he could turn out to be very useful on away trips to inverness in january, when our mexicans greeks and isrealis dont like the cold.

 

I would say so, killen only ever scored 5 goals for celtic, 3 of them in pre-season, and murphys played 3 pre season games and scored 2, give him a chance.

 

£1.5 mil for a squad player would much rather put it towards a decent centre half kept rasmussen as a squad player far better than murphy
