    He's a good player, possibly our best defender, and gives his heart for the club. But recently, he took on a role of the leader, telling others what to do. He has also roasted teammates when they f-ed up something. The makings of an ideal captain?

    Big fan of Mulgrew but I suspect if he had a couple of bad games alot of people on here would get on his back and say he isn't a captain etc. :50:

    Last night he was the one organising the defence, screaming instructions and giving players like Wanyama the support and praises when needed....I like that, maybe not consistent enough for the arm band yet, and I like Kayal as Captain, but would have him as deputy before Brown or Maj

    If you ask me he would make a good captain and he gives the team so many options. he can play centre half, left back and midfield. He can have the odd bad day like Motherwell last season but I think he is improving in stature all the time. Last night he was getting stuck into the defence. Just what we need.

    Charlie or Kayal are Captain material in my opinion but of the two I'd opt for Charlie as he is more vocal bearing in mind also that English isn't Kayals native tongue.

    Out of interest just who is the club official vice captain?

    He is definite captain material.

    I think there's very few players that come out of the last month or so with Celtic with any feathers in their cap but he is one of them. Will be sorely missed on Saturday.

    Don't know now but Maloney was the first to get it when Broony was out last season then big Maj was given it when both were out. Wilson had it as well as did Kayal and he's been given it a couple of times so far this season as well :50:

    Definitely. Another couple of seasons to really grow into his role as Celtic's Mr. Versatility, and he'll start be regarded as truly top-class. Keep it up Charlie!

    He is Captain material. So is a great servant like Mark Wilson. But I don't think Broony is doing a bad job. His fellow players seem to respect him. I honestly think when every single player in our team is fit, he has his place in the squad.

    Brown Kayal Ledley Commons

    It worked extremely well last year. It can again I believe.

    I'd be behind this. His passion is unquestionable and he actually seems to keep a cool head along with it.
    It's really amazing when you consider where he was this time last year. He's the reason I try not to judge players too quickly. Every time I saw people slagging Bangura or Wanyama and saying they're not fit for the club for their first few appearances and then bigging up Mulgrew I was wondering what comments they were making a year ago.

    Exactly mate. I think Charlie realised that this time last year he wasn't quite good enough - so he did what a true professional would do - went away and improved himself; and now, the proof's in the puddin!
