Funny thing you didn't mentioned their 2 wins at Ibrox when they beaten Rangers 3:0 both times. He also won Manager of the year award and brought up some of the finest Scottish talents in recent years.

    Young teams are always inconsistent.

They beat Rangers 3-0 twice, beat us. I remember them gubbing Livi something like 7-0.

I've got a feeling if we don't get Bilic or Martinez, the candidates people seem to be wanking over, then the new man won't get a chance. It'll be like Strachan all over again, alot of people will be sitting waiting for something to go wrong so they can jump in with I told you he was * etc etc.

No need for sarcasm, I'm just taking out facts and they look good overall.

I know. Im sorry about that.

But we could get a better manager than Mowbray, there are better managers/coaches out of jobs and we are going to have to pay compensation to get him. John Reid said they would get the Best Man for the job and if that man is Mowbray our standards are really low.

    It's alright.

I know we should hint as high as possible, that's my opinion too, but what would happen if we don't get Bilic or Rijkaard? Then we should look for the best option available after those 2. And I think Mowbray is the one after those 2.

Don't get me wrong I have a massive amount of respect for Mowbry and all that he achieved at WBA but he doesn't excite me, I want a manager that can galvanise the support and I just don't think that it is him. If he does get the job I'll be behind him 100% but I'd personally rather see Bilic or Martinez installed.

Calm down everybody. It just said on Reporting Scotland that WBA have had no official approach from Celtic. It will be somebody else's turn to be getting the job tomorrow. :87:

Can't Celtic talk with Tony Mowbray about a hypothetical signing, without making an official approach to WBA?

I don't say it is the case. I just say I'll not rule out that Lawwell and Reid trying/would try to get this guy.

Lets face it Celtic cannot lure any top class managers or players, we have to go for gambling in largely untested territory.

I reckon all of the managers we've been linked with have 1 thing major in common, they have no European experiance, never mind ECL experiance.

Mowbray, does have EPL & SPL experiance, which actually puts him at the top of the queue in terms of managerial experiance.

He has of course also played for Celtic, which again puts him ahead of the game - in terms of knowing our history & expectation.
Mowbray has also won the Championship - whilst Martinez has won League 1.

I can see that he has attractions for the board, he has knowledge & experiance of working with a minimal budget & of bringing through young talent - again lets face it - this is Celtic's level in terms of transfer policy.

He plays attractive football & I think he will have learned valuable lessons in being relegated from EPL.

He's a decent honest man, who has good morals & lifestyle I believe & a man we can look up to - I think that's one reason why he's so good with youngsters.

He's not my immediate 1st choice, but I like him & I'll be happy if we get him.

I have SPL experience, having been a season ticket holder for many years, but it doesn’t mean I can be a successful manager, this Mowbray stuff is beginning to depress me! this man has done nothing, repeat nothing, he didnt even win anything when he played with the hoops, he is NOT the answer!!!! Watty Smith will be overjoyed if we appont this man..i assure you of that!

You're being a tad harsh Richmal, he hasn't done 'nothing' when he's won the biggest ticket in World football which is the Championship.
