Looks like the board were willing to deal with Lyon...Rodgers has told the board 'no'.

Looks like Boyata deal was of a similar ilk.

Which if true, means Rodgers can’t really complain of no backing.

To be fair, I think Dembele is bang out of order here.

He signed a contract. The contract is for him to stay here for a length of time that hasn't passed yet. We all know he'll get his move soon. Why throw the toys out the pram now? I highly doubt clubs of Lyons's ilk won't be back in for him come January or next summer.

He should be * off with Lyon. The bid clearly wasn't big enough for us to do a deal this late in the day. They've waited until the last two days of the window.

Yes, we would've given him assurances that if a club comes in for him, he can go. That doesn't mean they wait until the last second with a bid that clearly doesn't blow us away.

Cheers Lyon for unsettling the player.

Is it only me that think's it's * all to do with the transfer, I suspect might be the "not right in the head" comments, I think Moussa is a professional and probably declared himself available for the game, otherwise if he was in a huff why did he even attend.

I think the board are just trying to get more money for him. Still think he'll be away today.

Lyon don't need to give a * about us. If they want to bid for a player, they do as they please. It's our job to get the fee that we want and have a list of potential replacements.

They too have just had a bid for their top striker, so they went to their list of potential replacements and bid for Dembele. Take note Celtic.

There are many reasons to "throw toys out the pram", have look at the contents of threads on this very forum for a start. You think it's been a horrific window for the fans, imagine watching you employer fluff about like absolute amateurs throwing away your best chance to make a name for yourself.

The club has let it's players down with negligence, we are into our second year of back to back regression. This is the clubs fault and this is what happens when the club doesn't perform.

No guarantees Lyon come back for him, nothing is guaranteed in football. Dembele was nothing special last season, another season like it could put clubs off spending the 20+ million we want.

He attended with his stormy faced agent.. Pretty clear why.

Fs mate, he is liking tweets about being * off with broken promises after we have rejected a bid from Lyon. Those are facts!

Where’s the notion come from that he’s been our best player since Larsson? What are you guys smoking?

I think it’s incredible that a bid for £22.5m has come in. He had one good season in the invincible season, he is very injury prone and don’t think he had a great 17/18 season last year at all. A few decent games but a lot more bad ones. This season too early to call but we are already out of the CL.

Dembele will never go down as a Celtic great. He’s behind the likes of Hartson, and Sutton and even big Pierre and Cadete. A million miles behind Larsson.

I’m glad he’s staying but only because we haven’t found another striker to fill the gap. He’s not progressed the way we all thought he would after his first season.

Not sure what his cryptic message means at all. Doubt he would have been at CP last night if he was that * off. Perhaps he’s told Celtic he wants to stay and he’s a man of his word when asked if he wanted a move away. He wouldn’t be so disrespectful to Rodgers. A bit like Fergie making Ronaldo into a great, let’s not forget Dembele came to us with a price tag of £385k, he’s going to be leaving for a £20m+ tag due to Rodgers.

If Villa never match Hibs valuation of McGinn could you imagine him acting like that on social media.

Some footballers especially continental are * spice boys these days.

Agree with you until the last para..

Dembele was never a £385k player, we got him at that price on a technicality. Spurs had a multi million quid bid lodged 6 months previous.

DR showing a tweet from Demeble about a real man should keep his word. Don't have Twitter so can't verify this.

If true clearly a dig at someone within the club? I think a huffy Dembele would be no good for us and may as well sell before value drops over course of the season if he spits the dummy

I totally agree but in the same respect selling our best striker on deadline day when clearly we are a lot weaker than last season without replacing him is dodgy stuff.
I wish he had kept his wee dig off social media though.

It is true, he’s * off at someone. I think it’s lawell for no letting him go. But if Lyon don’t meet our valuation then that’s on them, not us. Similar to us with Hibs, if you don’t meet the valuations then the club won’t accept.
