Stupid statement considering you don't know what happened. :38:

3. If he does appeal though, I imagine it will take a good few days to get sorted.

In the meantime he would still be able to go and train with the first team. If everything is as fecked up as has been suggested then I would train with them to stick it up WGS.

Just because he is not training with the 1st team though doesnt mean that he wont play! That would really be cutting your nose off to spite your face!

Though if this all goes * up then McGeady has to go as we cant be the sort of team that lets the player rule the manager.

I'm currently on page 15 of this thread and I'm still a bit unsure of what to think.

I do think this has been blown well out of proportion.
From what I can see, Strachan has seen fit to punish McGeady for a reason that he deems appropriate. The board are backing Strachan on the matter so I think that McGeady should take it on the chin, move on and try to get back in the first team.

I'd be disappointed if McGeady left but I honestly don't think he will.
He signed a 5 year contract in the summer and is a Celtic supporter.
He was quoted as saying "I want to win the next 5 league titles with Celtic.".
I believe that Strachan and McGeady will be able to resolve their differences. They're both grown men.
This kind of thing (player v manager) happens a lot in football and this case is just a lot more highlighted because of the club involved, Celtic.

Can anyone confirm if McGeady actually said he was bigger than Celtic?

I personally think it's time Celtic cashed in on McGeady. His stock value just now will be the highest it will prob ever be as you can sell "potential" easily. I don't think McGeady will ever be the player we all hopel and I already see him becoming just another average player. I come to this assumption based on prev players: Riorden, Burke, Ferguson, Maloney, miller, the list is endless of "scotlands next top player" and even as far back as Eion Jess at Aberdeen. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

The one thing that has hampered all these players and stopped them moving to the next euro class level is physical stature. All top euro players with exception to a handfull are of decent physical size and scotland just don't produce physicaly built players in any position other than defence and even then we are 1 or 3 inches short. This has shown in euro games already with mcgeady, maloney, burke etc when they simply get muscled out of games and don't have the pace to leave top players behind like they can in the SPL.

Sell now before he is only worth half of what you can get the now.

he verbally abused strachan in the dressing rooms after the hearts game.

he's more favourite to be playin at bayern this time next year than he is celtic i wud say.

McGeady's move to appeal makes it clear he doesnt want to leave, its wgs who wants rid,he thinks imposing his ban will be enough to make him request a transfer.

It seems obvious to me the club dont want to sell him or they would have put the for sale sign up already.

I am on the fence here ...Dont know the full facts ,i doubt anyone does on here .....It is good for a player and a manager to have a spat , i mean they are both fired up characters its good to see , however there has to be someone in charge and that is WGS and he has to be seen to be laying the law down . If he didnt what would we have ??? the whole dressing room would be lost and with it i believe 4 in a row ....

Fs the board were hardly going to go against there manager were they :97:, specially one that doesnt spend much in the transfer windows. If they had went against Strachans decision that would have made it even worse going into the huns game

some shocking and disgraceful comment coming form both sides. we still don't know what really happened, because none of us was actually there.

based on life experience and on several opinions and statements both characters are hot headed and I assume neither is blameless.

Why wouldn't they? They are there to do the best for Celtic not Gordon Strachan. If either player or manager aren't doing their job correctly the board steps in and removes either/or.

What has the fact Strachan doesn't spend much got to do with anything? He's given a budget to work with by the board not the other way about.

Hey guys, i didn't read through any of this cos its massive!

But my take on it now that we've signed that young N.I winger dude that "Ain't signing for a team to be on the bench / reserves"

I truely hope that this isn't a plot to get rid of our best player for a large transfer fee and replace him with an unproven 250k signing.

I will be ragin'.

We need to calm down, let the dust settle and see where we go from here. No-one on this board was in the dressing room on Saturday, IF that is where the problem arose.
If Aiden was at fault, and I stress, no-one knows any real facts, do we want to be a team run by a player like the huns are run by Barry F??
Also, if WGS is at fault, it'll come out too.

Le Guen was never liked by Rangers supporters though and he was making them really * in the process. Plus Ferguson was like the Huns * at the time so by making him upset the huns board were looking for an excuse to get rid of him. Our board obviously dont want rid of Strachan.

But you can see the parallels here to that situation.

They didnt have to back the manager but they did and in a very public manner. What does that tell you?

Save me from the conspiracy theory that the board want to get rid of a player that they convinced to sign a 5 year contract 6 months previous. I know the long term plan of Celtic and it isnt to sell key assets.

20. He still is even though hes been an average big mouthed footballer for the 3 years
