    Newcastle ponder move for Celtic forward after giving up on Tottenham man - Sportingo

    Newcastle could go shopping north of the border for another forward if they fail to land Tottenham's Robbie Keane.
    purs would like to sign the Republic of Ireland international but have baulked at the £7m asking price. Instead they will turn their attentions to Celtic forward Paddy McCourt who has hit the headlines today for more sinister reasons after he became the latest employee of Celtic FC to receive a package containing bullets in the post.
    While this is not thought to have had any impact on McCourt's future, the Northern Ireland international could move south if Newcastle follow up their interest. A late bloomer, McCourt is capable of the sublime with solo goals being his trademark this season. His performances have caught the eye of Alan Pardew who is hopeful that he can acquire the 27-year-old for rather less than is being asked for Keane.
    Any move would represent a gamble on the Magpies behalf with striker Andy Carroll currently being backed up by the unreliable Shola Ameobi and the talented but raw Nile Ranger, a move for McCourt would strengthen their options in that area without breaking the bank.

    Doubt there's much in this, but if true how much would you let him go for?

    Without breaking the bank? * them, Newcastle can't just cherry-pick the players they want from Celtic. Shove it!!
