    CELTIC are weighing up a move for Danish Under-21 striker Mathias Kvistgaarden.

    Boss Brendan Rodgers wants an extra attacker in before the window closes.

    And SunSport understands the Brondby frontman is being considered.

    Kvistgaarden, 21, netted ten goals in 37 appearances for the Superliga side last term and has a goal and two assists in four games in the current campaign.

    The striker signed an extended deal in March to keep him with the Danes until 2027

    Primarily plays ST, but can play on either wing as well.

    Got 10 goals and 4 assists last season, and has 2 assists and a goal in 4 matches so far this season.

    Would cost around £3.5 million at least, potentially more.

    If he's a Danish U-21 intenational there's a decent chance he's played with Matt O'Riley. Wonder if he's had a word.

    I wonder will this be our LW addition.. Rodgers was quoted in the press today that he's relatively happy with his ST options and it will be difficult to keep all of them happy as is.

    He is someone who seems highly rated in Denmark, Brondby have been struggling to hit the heights since they won the league a few seasons ago. Kvistgaarden however is seen as one of there bright stars.

    He came to life in the champions stage of Superligaen last year scoring 6 and creating 4 in 9 games playing across all front 4 positions. He actually profiles a lot like another Dane who is now at Benfica in Casper Tengstedt in how versatile he is across the front 3 positions. He tends to play as a striker in a front two or off the left in a front 3 (most of his appearances for Denmark U21 are from there.

    He’s the type of player who a Red Bull Salzburg or Brentford would normally end up buying. Still very early in his senior career but looks a talented player.
