It's weird, I can eat any chocolate bar and not feel a single thing, when I eat a marsbar, it seems to hurt my teeth. I go to the dentist every 6 months and get the all clear mostly. Anyone else have this problem with particular foods?

Do you like/eat snicker bars? If the same answer applies with those it could be Mars products do not agree with you.

Have this issue with my teeth... biting finger nails on certain teeth will hurt. usually fixed by a teeth clean.

And eating certain chocolate, my teeth with hurt. e.g mars bars and crunchys always hurt, but snickers or twix don't hurt at all.

Is there an explanation? is it just me? might ask my dentist when I go next.. whenever that is

It could be the start of a cavity or it could be recession, could be from clenching your teeth, or the bite could be high, very hard to tell without clinical examination. Best bet, go vist your DDS.

Might be the caramel in it mate ?

I find when you eat normal chocolate you dont feel much on your teeth but it's alot sweeter when you eat something with caramel.

Mars and Crunchie both have stupid amounts of glucose syrup in them which is one of the worst things for teeth you can eat.

Most likely reason will be is that the enamel on your teeth has worn away so the sugar is hitting the nerve endings in your teeth.

I think it is the chocolate that they use in Mars Bars, but I tend to get headaches after I eat them. Same with Snickers.... Come to think of it, most milk chocolate... weird.

Could be the caffeine, can cause headaches and give palpitations etc.

Perhaps, but then again, I've no probs with dark chocolate. Maybe it's the addition of the dairy? Weird. What I can't figure out is how people can eat deep fried Mars Bars...

Sometimes it seems like Scottish cuisine is all based on a dare. :56:

Sugar is my heroin, I need a good dose every day or I get agitated but with a fried Mars bar I don't know if you should have salt and vinegar or it or not? Does anyone put tomato sauce on it?

years ago in my college days me and a mate got a deep fried mars bar when everyone was talkin about them, we halfed (well, tried to) it and couldnt even finish it, i thought i was going to have a heart attack after it, was getting a really heavy feeling in my chest and stuff, not good man!

but to the op .. i would guess its your enamel wearing away and the nerve endings maybe being exposed, at first it sounded like something i get sometimes, but its not the same.

sometimes if ive not had any chocolate, or sugary sweets in a long time and i eat some, i get this sort of really fuzzy numb sort of feeling that comes from the back of my jaw up to the front, but it only lasts a few seconds. dont get it all the time, just the odd occasion. isnt really painfull, but its a really wierd feeling. doesnt concern me too much so never really asked anyone!
