Mark Viduka what did you think of him?

Had a bit of an arguement with mate in the pub about the guy.

I just think celtic made this guy, he was getting pelters from the croatia Zagreb fans before we signed him.

Goes awal when we signed him, refuses to play second half against inverness, him and Burley caused nothing but trouble in the dressing room back them.

O'neill comes in wanted him to stay, he thought he could do better, went for £6m we got Sutton for same price, one of the best moves we have ever made.

Good player yes, but his head was never right in my opinion.

Whats your thoughts on him guys.

 

Mark Viduka was a great player for us. He got messed about by the then Celtic management. I have met Mark in real life and the guy was brand new, and he loved playing for Celtic. His situation could have been handled better. If I remember right his father, who he was very close too, was critically ill at the time he played with us, and that screwed his head up, as it would.

 

Fantastic player. Stinking attitude.

If he had a better attitude he could have been just as much of a legend as Chris Sutton or John Hartson now are. I think Viduka could have scored an absolute barrowload for us if he had stayed and played up front with Henrik for a few seasons.

Sadly his heid was too * big to 'waste his time' at Celtic.

 

Was gutted when Viduka went, he scored skelpers against they huns.

 

Was he messed around when he signed? i always remember Fergus going out his way to go over to Zagreb a few weeks after he signed when he went awol, what was that all about?

Am sure he done an interview from Australia when he went awol, but i remember it was what fergus done got him back

If your father is dying then I think most people would have went back to Australia to see their dad one last time. I think Mark had issues with his girlfriend too at that time, so I think his head was scrambled with emotions.

I have heard that he loved the fans etc. but he hated John Barnes with a passion and I think even the MON had taken over he wanted a fresh start. Great player and we should have gotten more for him
