Nothing in there that wasn't already pretty much common knowledge. Again, notice it wasn't Celtic who leaked this, rather a 'source close to Hughes'. Often a common tactic employed by manager's representatives, if they are looking to see if anyone's hand can be forced.

Defense was terrible, with much better players
    played 2 CDMs

I don't think managing in the Championship with a cashless West Ham will appeal to him after the good work he did with Wales, Blackburn and Man City (and he DID do well there). We're in with a shout of getting him, alright.

His record speaks for itself: Getting Wales to the playoffs, taking Blackburn to 6th and 7th and into Europe, getting to an FA Cup semi-final with Rovers, and taking Man City to sixth.

When given control of his own scouting he does well, too, with good signings such as McCarthy, Bently, Nelson, Warnock, Santa Cruz and Samba on record, none of whom cost above £2m.

Agree, I don't think it is the situation in the East End of London that he is keeping his 'options open' for, rather developments in Liverpool, and if not that post itself, certainly the one where a former Celtic manager currently resides, who is the favourite fot the Anfield job - should Rafa either move, or get moved.

Santa Cruz was 3.4 million but still cheaper than that big * donkey we bought , he would be excellent much better than Lennon bring it on , Sparky will get us going again ,

My understanding was Lenny had been given until the end of the season to prove himself.

I reckon the club are just sounding people out informally at the moment, I wouldn't hold your breath for any movement on the manager front soon.

If we were to persuade Hughes to come to Celtic Park we'd have to back him financially in the transfer market.

I think the board are more likely to stick with Lennon who would cost less financially

Still a relatively young/inexperienced manager compared to what I'm hoping for. Not that that is necessarily a sure thing to guarantee success, but I'd feel much much happier with an old experienced guy like Otto Rehhagel (not that we're anyway at all in with a shout for him, although I wonder if this is his last tournament with Greece?)

Probably could be free but I suppose Mark Hughes would be looking for alot more in wages and money in the transfer windows where as Lennon probably understands that the club won't spend too much and will have to work with what he has.
