it has today been reported that liverpoll are set to pay 24 million for the hitman who will go to anfeild for talks by the end of the week and to show rafael benitez that they really mean buisness

Tension at Anfield has reportedly been running high since the end of the season between manager Rafael Benitez and co-owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks, regarding the transfer budget for this summer.

Benitez has made it clear he wants to make huge changes in his squad in time for next season, and it is now believed he has been given assurances that there will be a healthy kitty.

And the Spaniard intends to show just how serious he is about claiming the Reds’ first title since 1990 by spending £25million on Atletico striker Torres, who has in the past been linked with Manchester United.

Would be a good signing if they pulled it off

  3. That would be the signing of the close season so far. Having a Spanish manager might swing for them.

I hear Luis Garcia could be going the other way according to sky sports news.
