number 1 being the best/most likely. I would do a poll but it never seems to work

    1. Rogne

Very underated, quick, strong, comfortable on the ball and reads the game well.
Lenny should sign him longer, only 18 months left

    2. Matthews

Never seen him have a bad game, and he's getting better

    3. Wanyama

we'll be lucky to keep hold of him

    4. Forrest

got the feeling he'll be another mcgeady

    5. Mcgeoch

he should be playing more - if they are good enough they're old enough to play

Dont think any of them will be world-class, closest may be Wanyama as hes a top drawer defensive midfielder and there isnt that many who are really good.

    1. Wanyama
    2. McGeouch
    3. Matthews
    4. Forrest
    5. George
    6. Kidd
    7. Rogne

Not much between them all though they'll all be Celtic class which is important.

Who the * are we dropping for McGeouch?

I think Matthews or Wanyama will end up the best of our young players, could see them playing for one of the best Premiership clubs, Wanyama would suit Arsenal or Man Utd quite well I think and Matthews could fit in any team. Forrest could become great or he could end up like McGeady, he still has some things to iron out in his game and particularly the mental side. He needs to stop giving up when he gets outmuscled and waiting for a free kick with his arms outstretched for one thing, and I always feel he is one of the guys who you can tell is going to have a good or bad game right away as the ability to beat a man is in his head.

But I don't think any of our players will become "world class" as it's a term that's banded about too liberally these days. I think Matthews could become as good as Bale as a Welshman but wouldn't say he is world class either.

Agree with the sentiment that world class does get bandied about too often and unjustly.
Larsson was world class. No one in our squad will ever get to that level. A few might get to the top level and be a good player in their squads. And for me pretty much the lads that have been mentioned will get there.
Matthews is on his way to a Man U or that level.
Forrest, see him being at Spurs for some reason. He would suit there style.
Wanyama, again Man U, Arsenal, maybe even Italy. The boy is class already and is getting better.

What makes you pick Lewis Kidd ahead of Jackson Irvine, John Herron, James Keatings, Thomas Rogne, Joe Chalmers, etc
I know hes younger but the others have show greater promis imo

I think he'll become better than them. Irvine and Herron arent that good, certainly not in Kidds class and Chalmers and Rogne are defenders and it says world class, I think Kidd will get closer to that than those two.

1 - Wanyama. It's easy to see him playing in the Premiership or in Italy for the biggest teams. I hope we can hang on to him for awhile. His first cap for Kenya was when he was 18--he'll likely become one of their most capped players ever.
    .
2 - Matthews. He's just class. Never puts a foot wrong. Again, I could see him getting major caps for Wales and playing at the highest levels.

3 - McGeouch. Looks a real talent--too early to tell yet, but he's very good.

4 - George. The number of goals he has scored at underaged international matches is pretty insane. At only 17, he'll improve a lot, still.

5 - Forrest. Looks like a tidy winger. Could be as good as McGeady.

Theyre both great players mate, Herron reminds me of a right footed Ledley, he captained the 17s to the cup last season and has scored quite a few from midfield this season and he had a brilliant Gen Series campaign as did Irvine, Irvine was also outstanding in a 6 side tournament, if you havent watched it its on the celtictv website for free, he got player of the tournament, he can also slot into the middle of the defence quite easily

Oh and world class defenders exist

EDIT: Darnell Fisher is the same age and plays the same position as Kidd and is just as good if not better imo

1.Wanyama.......i think this Bhoy really has it all
    2.Matthews.......improving with each game...Bhoy's got a future
3.Ki (can I class him as a young player) great vision & distribution, not a bad shot either...could play in the EPL....needs to toughen up a bit first.
4.Forrest...great talent but Scottish,I hope he can break the mould & develop into the real thing...a star footballer
5.McGeouch....another Bhoy showing all the signs of greatness but again he's Scottish, better still he grew up in Glasgow(ma wee home toon') so i've got really high hopes for him...I only put the Scots lads at the bottom of my list cos' it's been such a long time since we've been able to boast a true footballing Scottish legend.

SUB....Rogne...I like him, think he deserves a new contract.

They aren't great though, remember they are up against boys themselves, where is their stand out qualities?

They do not have the poise, class, vision, skill and balance of a Lewis Kidd between the two of them. Good young players yes possibly future SPL players but not class and not future Celtic material imo

Neil lennon was in the bar where I worked, going back over a year I guess, and was asked, who has the potential to be the best in scotland. He was being quizzed about how good forrest and feruz etc were, without hesatation said there's a young lad that plays for rangers called dylan mcgeouch,he's gonna reach the very very top. So I don't know about top 5. But that night we knew who was number one in our managers mind.

I also believe matthews and kayal are on course to be champions league standard players very soon

    1. Wanyama

The sky is the limit with this guy, I genuinely cannot name another 20 year old defensive centre mid in Europe that has the attributes he has.

    2. Matthews

I cannot believe this guy is 19. Again, there are very few full backs in this country with his potential. Very, very easy to see why the top 4 were all over him a year ago. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they are back in for him in another year when he has developed physically.

    3. McGeouch

People are genuinely excited about Forrest, as I have been myself since he was 17 and tearing up the lower levels. This guy, however, is going to be a level above. Just as direct and creative but has a genuine steel about him and a better natural build and engine. Could play anywhere across the middle and without a shadow of a doubt will be a star.

    4. Rogne

Lennon et al rate this guy EXTREMELY highly. In fact he is rated as the best defender at the club and he is only 21 years old. Says it all that should he stay fit, Lennon has already publically stated he will be the genuine quality centre half we really need. Needs to brush up his distribution.

    5. Forster

Was always a great shot stopper but never used his presence and his kicking was shocking. He is now developing both those areas of his game and is standing up and being counted in the big moments which is starting to turn the fans opinion of him. Always liked the big man and I think there is definitely further development to be made.

They are all older than him though hes 16 they are 17/18/soon 19.

He is better than them you'll soon see.

McGregor imo is also better than Herron and Irvine.

I agree McGregors brilliant, still i dont see how you could put him ahead on those lads
How much times have you seen Kidd play, ive watched the 19s on celtictv for the last 2/3 years both highlights and full games and hes rarely featured. Do you go to the games mate?

I dont go to many of the games but I go now and again when I see the under 19s will be playing at Barrowfield as I can get in there but you cant at Lennoxtown, my cousin used to play for the huns and my das pals boy plays with Hearts so I hear about them and I have seen Kidd playing a good few times 7/8 and he has been class on each occasion. I havent seen him in about 6 months maybe now but I have seen him enough to see he is a quality player and better than those we were saying.

He has a bit of swagger and technical ability about his game kind of like McGeouch although McGeouch is a more dynamic player and Kidd is more a playmaker/number 10.
