How good a complex is Lennoxtown?

We were talking about this yesterday in the pub after the game, one of guys on my supporters bus had taken his young son to the Hibs training centre as he plays for Morton boys. He said that the Hibs training centre is much better than ours & Murray park.

Ive never been in any of them but he said Hibs is a better setup & better layout

I've played on the indoor pitch up at Lennoxtown (probably the least impresive part of the complex, breeze block walls are horrible) and I've been around the complex a few times and it's pretty impressive. The synthetic pitches are all state of the art & the grass pitches are well maintained. The gym facilities are of a very high standard as well, obviously.

I can't compare it to any other training facilities. I know Hibs spent a lot of money on their training ground but I'd be surprised if there's a better one in Scotland than Lennoxtown.

Funny story - the gym overlooks the indoor pitch & some of the players (Stokesy, Mulgrew and a couple of the younger guys) were watching us play from up there & jumping about, celebrating, when we scored. :smiley-laughing002:

    Lennoxtown is fantastic.

I hear Sevco's training complex beats it though......

From what I've seen of it which is limited to pictures and videos, it looks the part. It must be fit for purpose as we have by far and away the best senior squad in the country and the best youths too

Lennoxtown is the better built and maintained of the 3 by far. In terms of the actual facilities they all have the same things. Indoor and outdoor parks, gyms etc etc...

I couldn't find it when I went looking for it a few seasons ago. Boruc and Brown passed me in their cars, but I was driving about like Mark Thatcher trying to find the * place. :52:

    Thats class..

On it being open to the public.. In America the NFL training grounds are open to the public. You can buy tickets and watch your team play scrimmages against each other.

Its not a bad idea really.

But it's totally closed to anybody from the outside! Why shouldn't it be? "We" payed for it! The least they could do is let whoever wants in to watch a Youth match or reserve match in if they want to! Even a tour!

I remember the days you could get close to your heroes for photos and autographs now they have to get one from a car window! Meteres away from the front gate

    Fair point

Although do they not already let you in for reserve or youth games?

Hibs training facilities are not better than Lennoxtown or Murray Park.

I know Murray Park cost the most to build but that doesn't necessarily mean it is the best. I live a 10 minute walk away from the training ground at Lennoxtown and it always struck me as a very well maintained and efficient training complex.

No it's something Spanish teams do I think they have a stand at the side of the pitch so I'm guessing they let people in...

You always see all over Europe the teams last training session before a big game fans in training ground making noise and colour to get the team up for it aswell always found this class

I've been in and around lennoxtown and loved it. I'm only passing on what I've been told by trainers/coaches who have used both complexes (and they were Tims)
