Lennon wants £10 million for new players!

As it says in this article Lennon would like £10 million in the summer to bring in some real quality. Questions what position and who would you by. I think it all depends on who leaves but a quality cb is essential would like a striker like van wolfswinkel but feel that ship has sailed any thoughts. He does say he wont ask lawell for the cash thought, interesting read.

CB, striker to replace Hooper and creative midfielder.

To be totally honest though, the only position I'm happy with at the back is rb, we could do with a bit of investment across the back line. Ambrose may be better in the middle if big Vic does leave.

 

Cb and big powerful striker. Think we lacking both

 

And a proper no 10. No offence to stokes

 

Nice big dominant CB, a creative mid/CAM but saying that Tom Rogic could do that but i havnt seen enough to know what kind of player he is. and as stated We need a good striker and i want Ricky Van Wolfswinkel.

 

A creative playnaker would be useful as we tend to struggle to break down toght defences.

Would like to think we'd sign 5 players of decent quality, but who we'd also be able to develop.

£2m each on CB, LW and CAM. Marcos Alonso on a free, and £4m on a properly good striker.

If I had to give specific suggestions: Bannan or Melikson at CAM; Mackay-Steven at LW; obviously Alonso at LB; and up front I'd take a punt on Alfred Finnbogason, who left Helsingborgs just before they played us, and is doing fantastically in the Dutch Eredivisie with Heerenveen at the minute - he's scored 19 goals in 23 games. Also, he apparently spent part of his childhood in Edinburgh, so should be familiar (to a small extent) with the Scottish game. In terms of a centre-back, we just need a more defensively intelligent partner for Wilson, really - with a bit of leadership and influence too. I'd go for Winston Reid at West Ham. Don't know how much he'd cost, though.

 

I tend to look at strengthening forward positions rather than defence

first priority for me would be a pacy, direct left winger.

Maybe GMS would be perfect

LB - ATM, we have no direct replacement for Izzy (no second natural LB)
CB - seems like Rogne is gonna leave and Amrbose is a worry at times
CAM or LW - need another attacking option in MF... don't think we need both (not sure we can even afford both)
ST/CF - Hoopers will probably leave, Miku hasn't impressed, and Lassad is so-so

Also, unrelated transfer question: How is it that a club like Swansea picked up a hidden gem like Michu, and we got stuck with Bangura? They cost roughly the same too...

i think lenny knows more about our star players futures than he is letting on if he wants 10 mill to spend on players .

 

Off course he does. Isn't he working with these guys day in and day out.
We know Hooper for off anyway. He had contract there from Oct and hasn't signed it. Victor for off too. He contract there and hasn't signed. * know who fancy a new challenge and wants to leave , like ki last summer.

Give him the cash to spend,deserves every penny and I'm sure he would be very wise with it.

 

I'd like to see us sign an experienced defender at the back. A leader. Wilson is the most experienced player at the back, but seems like a quiet player. I think it would be great to get someone to talk, organise and motivate the team from the back.

I think we're ok in the middle, even if we do lose Wanyama. Brown, Ledley and Kayal are all good players, and we might see Ambrose played there more often. We also have young Rogic who will get more and more game time.

In wider positions we have Forrest, Commons, Samaras and McGeouch. Personally I'd like to see us invest in an upgrade on Commons.

Assuming we lose Hooper, we'll be incredibly light up front. Miku, Bangura and Murphy all look like their time at Celtic is up, which leaves us with Lassad, Stokes and Watt.
Lassad is decent, but not someone we can rely on to get a goal. Stokes is always good for a goal, but isn't a 'leading striker'. Watt could be, but is still too young to deal with that kind of pressure.

To sum up, 3 quality players.

- An experienced head in defence
- A creative midfielder capable of playing just off the front/out wide
- A no. 1 striker

 

Is this £10m on top of any money we make from selling players?
