So - he's admitted this, yet says the lack of patience is baffling?

    Very good Neil :50:

I'm not saying anything negative about Lenny. He has my backing 100%.

gOOd on him for sticking up for his team yesterday, fans that are willing to give it should take it.

This will all be forgotten next week.

    Mon the hOOps!!!

Lennon was quite right, it was people in my section who were just morons shouting abuse at him as if it was his poor performance. Yes, supporters have the right to express their opinions but just turning up to abuse people is pathetic.

Whats all the fuss about? Only a couple of weeks ago we beat the best team in the world. :smiley-laughing002: Now its all doom and gloom?

Lenny is doing a great job as manager of Celtic and I hope he is our manager for many years to come. Sure we will lose games and play poor sometimes but that happens to every team in the world.

Rather than blame Lenny for the performances I'd rather lay blame at the feet of the players. They can and should be doing better than they are in the league.

But remember, we have no divine right to win any game of football. It is 11 v 11 and every win must be earned. Any team Lenny picks from our squad has the potential and ability to win most games against Scottish opposition. What lets us down is the players on the park under performing.

Get it together lads, and quickly.

The bottom line is there was no need for Neil to even mention quitting and he's probably just mentioned it out of anger. There's no pressure from our support for him to quit, in fact most Celtic supporters think he's doing a cracking job. We have a great opportunity to qualify for the last 16 and go head to head with the big guns. I don't know a supporter that wants him to quit.

Our league form has been poor and if you are a supporter reading what he's said, it makes you feel as if you can't criticise him as a manager. I hope and believe that he only said it because he was hurting like everyone of us and I have complete faith that our league form will turn around.

I'm not taking too much from it though, with the amount of admiration he receives, he can be in no doubt that nearly every Celtic supporter in the land loves him as a manager.

    This isn't the issue here,

The issue is a past player and now manager making comments like that towards, us the fans, who have and still give him more compassion and respect than any other manager in recent times.

Why did he have to come out and the say that because he was arguing with a few fans? I haven't heard one person say they want Lenny to go, so for him to come out and say that is really a just throwing back everything we gave him back in our face, just because he is getting justified criticism for his dire woeful performances in the league. Extremely immature and unprofessional.

People saying they can see why he said what he did are absolute clowns in my opinion. There is no fans of a team on this planet who wouldn't heavily criticize a manager after that.

Well people who get on the manager's case(especially this manager after everything he's given to Celtic) after a few poor performances are clowns in my opinion. All depends how you look at things doesn't it.

He shouldn't be reacting to/Arguing with fans that's the bottom line here... He also shouldn't be talking about quitting and * stirring just a week away from one of the most important games of our season so far...

What the * is it with this club!? First our "Ultras" a day after one of our biggest wins ever, decide to bring everyone down again by announcing they are boycotting games and hanging a dark cloud over everything, just as we're attempting to reach the last 16 of the CL... :31: Now our manager is shouting about * quittng... :31::31:

The green brigade, neil lennon are being absolute * idiots!!!:38:

There is nothing in the above quote from Neil that warrants the reaction seen in this thread. He didn't even threaten to quit as the misleading thread title states.

"If they want me to go.." suggests to me that Neil has actually heard this sentiment from our fans and is responding. Maybe he would have been better off not responding in the way that he did, or better still stop talking to the press altogether, but he is right in what he says, if the fans are no longer behind him then why should he stay?

You are making it out as if Neil has directed a derogatory comment toward the support when in reality it is more than likely to be the other way around!

Neil Lennon Quit??? your havin a laugh!

Granted the teams been nothing short of NewCo quality but i believe he's the right man for the job!
However hes three years/seasons in the job aand hes was with Celtic for a good few years AND he watched the team as a kid so he knows the game and always has, saying hes still learning isnt an excuss.

His team selections for the most of the time is all off dont think he can spell rotation because he seems to never do it, playing players that are 'Tired' isnt an excuss but surely youd be able to see this in training?
Substitutions? all wrong. brings players on when its too late to make a difference.
Strikers are lacidasical Hooper doesnt look match fit or interested and Commons is only interested in shooting from 40yards. This time last season it was the turnaround, everytime we got beyond the halfway line we looked as if wed score. Now? forget about it.
People saying "we are top of the league calm doon ffs", We are only top of the league because aberdeen did us a turn and beat Hibs otherwise we wouldnt be.

Not good enough in my opinion a change of either backroom or player we NEED a striker that could easily score 30+ a seaon we need a no noncence midfeilder that can chip in 15+ a season aswell kind of like a Robson figure and we need an old head that knows the game inside out.

I'm sure he'll come good again, But as for now these 'Pointers' need to be adressed.

    Grand old team
Lennon & Co still living "off the back" of the spartak & Barca games. How many more times are we going to hear " Ive just had it out with the players" "it's not acceptable" "Players are tired pish" ....Yeah like the players have really took on board what you have said after all these defeats. How about "i picked the wrong team yet again" or I cant drop my favourites. imagine brown telling the manager that he wants to play v spartak and then we will deal with the operation talk about the tail wagging the dog. Feel sorry for the fans who actually take half the day or esp the irish/english based fans take a day to get here spend money to watch that shower of non triers. lazy gets should have been in at 8am today training.

Don't think the GB wanted to bring everyone down, they're under a lot of pressure and there are bigger issues than football, mate. We need to support them in this.

He hasn't been doing that. Read the full transcript of what he said (which someone posted above).

    Sorry you think that. :54:

Something made out of nothing... all of a sudden were in some sort of crisis?

Top of the league with a game in hand, guaranteed European football after christmas, possibly last 16 of the CL... Semi of a cup, got our first CL away win and recently beat the best side in the world.

    Wheres all this come from.
