    JUST CANT GET ENOUGH
The financial figures were revealed in the club's annual report released on Thursday and gave details of payments to board members.

Lawwell received a salary of £524,576, a bonus of £400,500, "benefits in kind" of £17,312 and pension contributions of £57,108.

That is a total of £999,496 received by the Parkhead chief in the financial year 2013/14. His total remuneration on the previous year dropped by £95.

The report states that Lawwell is "entitled to a maximum payment" under the company's "bonus scheme of 60%".

It was also revealed the club's remuneration committee "decided to make an additional bonus" to Lawwell for meeting the "objectives set for him."

The figures come as it was revealed 3300 Celtic fans have signed an online petition calling on the club to pay its employees the national living wage.

Thousands of paper signatures have also been added to the tally from fans attending the last home game.

The resolution states: "This AGM instructs the PLC board to take all necessary steps to make Celtic Football Club a Living Wage employer. Celtic FC would become the first football club in the UK to do so and will set an example to both sporting employers and the wider business community in the country."

The annual report reads: "Mr Lawwell’s service contract commenced on October 25 2003. It continues subject to twelve months’ notice by him to the company or by the Company to him.

"For the financial year to 30 June 2014, Mr Lawwell continued to be entitled to a maximum payment under the Company’s bonus scheme of 60% of basic salary, if all performance conditions were satisfied.

"Mr Lawwell served on the Professional Game Board and the Board of Directors of the Scottish Football Association and the Board of the European Club Association during the year. No fee is payable for these posts.

"The Remuneration Committee decided to make an additional bonus award to Mr Lawwell, on an ex gratia basis, for the financial year having taken account of the scale of incremental value delivered for the benefit of the Company through fulfilment of the objectives set for him."

I'd be interested to know exactly what the objectives set for him were.

He must have achieved something great that I've missed to earn that bonus.

It's over 1m if we qualify for the Champions League I'm sure.

Edit: That was the year we reached the last 16 I think actually.

Can't believe this pathological liar earned half of what we spent this summer in transfer fees.

When we're bringing in £10/£20m every summer and spending £2/£3/£4 million, I'd like to know what he's doing to earn his bonus. Because if we need to sell that much to balance the books he's doing something wrong.

The guy who got the job at Arsenal Ivan Gazidis got paid £2.15million in 2012 and £1.85million in 2013.

This is a quote from Gazidis today, looks like he gets questioned the exact same as Lawwell:

"There is an inaccurate analysis about cash available. We are not hoarding a vast cash balance. We do not try to broadcast our cash situation, but the situation is more complex."

"We do try to keep a reasonable amount for the transfer budget, it is quite untrue that we are sitting on a huge cash pile for some unspecified reason."

Gazidis got paid £2.09million last year too, so he has roughly earned £2.03million per year the last 3 years.

Not so long ago this forum was kissing his * so hard he had no skin left on it.

Now everyone wants to rip into him.

Why are people now suddenly taking offence at the money he is paid? Its been the same for years and it's the going rate, probably less, for the job.

People are just going out of their way to be offended on this forum

I know I don't really get it. If Lawwell left his replacement would earn the same amount of money just like they did before he got the job. The guy before him Ian MacLeod earned £785k in 2003 and £445k in 2002.

I am sure Lawwell gets paid the going rate for the difficult job he does . Epl clubs get a kings ransom from Sky , yet Lawwell is fishing in the same footballer pools as at least half of them with a Celtic turnover of about 25% of the average of the bottom half of Epl .
Our former city rivals couldn't stand the heat and disappeared into liquidation but since Lawwell has joined us in 2003 , he may have taken many decisions that hasn't pleased us all , but he has ran on a sound financial footing . To me it's better that we have a solid financial base, for one season after the other , than have a free spending season followed by financial draught for the next three seasons with us wondering will we continue to exist or not .

That's what CEO's get paid, I agree that we should be a Living Wage employer based on charitable roots but these are 2 separate and distinct issues.

We don't pay him good money then he leaves and we bring in someone not as qualified with less experience. That's the way business works and we are a business.

I'd say it's a harder job there it at Liverpool which was the other..

Why reject it then if that's doubling his money, if paper talk is to be believed?

It's actually not been the same for years as his bonus has been deferred a few times.
