I've never heard of him, nor have i seen him play. The fact that he has captained Croatia's youth team must have some indication that he is a talented young player. Looking forward to seeing how he gets on here.

We could easily afford 28,000 euros a week works out at just over 20k a week.

Yes.... I suppose it's all about the wages..

Good that we have our limits, but obviously very restrictive as well.

Doubt it, to get him here he would need to be on 25k per week which would seriously upset the wage structure/other players who are still on 8k per week and play a more vital role. Considering we wouldn't even offer hooper that much I can't see us giving it to an unknown quantity

I don't want him for that price.

If he can't start for Zagreb then I don't see much point in putting that much into him, it's alot for us nowadays.

I have been wanting us to 'splash' the cash a bit more but only if it's on the right player, how much would Mechele from Brugge cost?

I think there must be better out there.

I see no reason why Mechele would join us. He's at a club of our level, in a more competitive league.

It does seem like a lot for a player who isn't a regular starter for Zagreb.

Well, he was being continually linked for the same price as this guy so I'm just putting two and two together.

I don't know why Simunovic would want to join us either, Zagreb are in the Champions League and have just as much chance as making it each year as we do.

I heard he doesn't even play for them mind you so perhaps that's why, but then what does that say about him?

he did not play the first game that ended 1-0 for Celtic, however he came on as a substitute in the second game on the 11th minute.

For the first game (Celtic-Dinamo 1:0) he did not travel to Glasgow, and in the last game (Dinamo-Celtic 4:3) he came in as a sub in min 11. since Taravel was injured.

And as for other games in Europa League last year, he played full game against Astra away, Salzburg at home, and he came in min. 65 at Salzburg away.

Of course we can afford it, he is head and shoulders above anything we have at 8k a week. If we continue to offer a pittance we will continue to downgrade and get worse.

De Guzman would walk into our side and we desperately need players like that and it will cost us more. Or we waste 1 million on 5 players and give them 8k-10k a week and most probably be Pish. It's not working for us so it need to change.

Everything you hear about Šimunović from Croatia should be taken with pinch of salt.
Situation in Dinamo Zagreb is chaotic.
Charman Zdravko Mamić and his brother Zoran Mamić (Dinamo Zagreb coach) are under police investigation for tax avoidance and stealing more than 10 mil € for personal gain.
Both of them where in jail for two weeks.
    http://www.jutarnji.hr/vrbanovic-pr...k-trazi-da-mu-odrede-istrazni-zatvor/1376772/
Now process against them is to be continued, they paid bail and now are free. Still in charge in club.

Supporters and fans hate Zdravko, Zoran and Mario (son of Zdravko and manager of all young Croatian players at Dinamo) Mamić and want them out of club.
Because that we are all cynical with everything around the club. Including all players under they payroll and transfers made. Dinamo Zagreb as club does not get 10% of money earned by these transfers.
You can see in link how Modric transfer to Spurs was illiegal and made huge financial damage to the club, and huge profit for Mamić clan.

I hope that now you all can understand why Dinamo supporters act like cynics in this transfer move. It is the same with all transfers of Dinamo Zagreb.
    By the way
Simunović is average 21 year old CB. Nothing special, but with potential to be good.
He reminds me of Gordon Schildenfeld.
    In Gordon younger age.

    PS. sorry for bad english
