Say it cost £10m to get Jota, £6m to get Miller and spent another £4m on a CB option.

£20m between January and summer window and that 22 man squad would be the best we've seen in a very long time and would coast the qualifier next summer.

He might take a while to get going but he'd be a great signing. He'd come back, be popular and would play regularl football. Him to replace Yang and Palma.

 

I don't think he'll ever come back but I'd be buzzing if we could make it happen. The club definitely need to enquire with his agent at the very very least.

 

He likes to move around and experience different cultures and countries i doubt he will ever be back. Plus I'm not sure he would want to come back with Ange not being there anyway

 

I'd think Rodgers holds more sway/respect/big name pull than Ange to be fair.

But 100% with his preference to travel and experience cultures. He is likely to move on to another league all together than remain in France or come back here.

But I'll forever hold hope he may one day want to come back and be happy with his summer for travelling the world.
If we do it right, we would be in Asia, Australia, South America, north America etc every other year anyway for tours, maybe that'll satisfy him.

A year+ out of the squad in Saudi and 6 months from the sound of it side lined again. He might be ready for a bit of familiarity and also playing in an attacking setup like ours.

Also, he's only really had success at us. Will he be in high demand?

 

Per transfermarkt, they bought him for £6.64m (= €8m). Assuming their new manager doesn't rate him, I doubt they'd be expecting to make a profit.

Jota in, Palma out = perfect January window. Wouldn't want anything else. Team is playing great. We are loaded at every position. Maybe sell/loan Nawrocki/Holm as well, but I wouldn't mind keeping them for depth.

 

Palma and Yang out, get maybe £5m combined.
£8m (somehow) for Bernie.
The loan deals and guys like Nawrocki out the door to scrape up another £5m and we are laughing.

Could have £15-20m in sales able to cement Valle, bring in Jota, have Tierney on a precontract and look for that alternative CB option and not be out of pocket.

Then come actual summer window, it's literally replace who leaves with real quality.

Imagine we actually sold Bernabei and got enough money to almost cover a move for Jota

 

I hope he knows that this is where he belongs.

I * love him and have no doubt we'd win the Champions League with him back here.

 

So how does anyone know he is still the same Jota that left here? Has anyone watched him play the handful of games he's played in two years?I get the Jota love in, but lack of game time in Saudi and not going well in France...doesnt mean he just turns in 2022 Jota if he signed here.
Why look backwards there's a bunch of orileys and kuhns out there that we have been successful in finding in recent years and developing.
Why take someone who made it clear he wanted out soon as the $$$$ came rolling in and he failed miserably out there?

Plus he gets to watch us in the champions League lol
