He's my favourite player of the past 10 maybe even 15 years mate.

He's everything I think a celtic winger should be. Didn't begrudge him the money, no gonna lie I wouldn't have turned that down either.

Nobody would turn it down mate. It was more the drinking in the Brazen etc. Felt like pandering after he left for a dead end over there, which 99% of us predicted it would be. Big payday but total regression on the player he could be.

I’m delighted he’s most likely coming back now that I’ve stewed on it.

Is it not usually a percentage of profit, rather than the whole transfer fee?

Typically yes that is how it works a percentage of any profit made on a transfer.

I doubt that we did as usually sell off clauses are for profits made on transfers.

Not all are maybe more with the lower end of the market but of we had any future percentage we would never had kore than 25mil for him leaving from Saudi

If it does roughly balance out to 0, then one way to spin it is it’s like we just loaned him out for the last 1.5 years for a £6.5m fee to someone that paid 10x wages for some reason.

30% to Benfica, 30% of profit made I think. They’ve got the same with Bernardo as well.

The Benfica academy is incredible so seems a standard deal they want in selling them for a reduced fee rather than up front bigger fee. Fair play that model.

I think we’re still up by about £3m profit my sketchy maths.

Celtic subreddit in particular is * full of zoomers. Full of ‘diehards’ that have zero clue about football at all.

It’s up there with most facebook groups, other forums slightly better. This forum is a step above if you know the * to just not reply to.

Saying that, I briefly went on Kerrydale Street back in the day and * me, I asked like * please unban me here

This could be one of the smartest moves we’ve ever done. When we signed Maeda he was a ST and we’ve tried to get him out on the left when technically he hasn’t got the ability on the ball for that role. This season his finishing has been his best attribute.

And his pressing in the Kyogo role will be unreal giving Jota and Kuhn so much freedom along that front 3.

    Bravo Rodgers Bravo :treble:

I don't want the board thinking this way.

We needed a winger anyway. If Jota comes, tick it off (although we could do with another one if we're all being ruthless).

    We still need a striker.

So with Jota and KT back and Kyogo leaving what would be best formation but includes Maeda in team

If we need pressing and pace up top against European teams he'd be ideal. He tore the teams in pre season apart up top. I'd happy using him up there.
