Yeah, its an irish radio station. Most people i have talked to/know are against the queen coming to Ireland. The 'West Brits' on the other hand, were always gonna complain about it.

 

I don’t find the volume of complaints surprising.

Dublin is full of horrid West Brits who are intent on abandoning all self-respect - in a pathetic attempt - to demonstrate how ‘post Nationalist’ they all are.

Ugh after litsening to that Joe Duffy wrecks my head even more than before. If I'm honest I think John did it for a PR stunt and its worked but he shouldnt of done it for the sake of Anthony IMO. RTE were never going to let aload of people ring in who actualy agrees with him that how these shows work.

regardless of what they've done to ireland in the past, the english/british royal family should be told to * off simply because the whole caste system i.e people born into a higher position simply because of thier blood is bollocks and surely the sensible heads in dublin will let them know peacefully. the english royal family contribute nothing to society, not even taxes

A Dublin publican has been ordered by a court to remove a huge banner barring Queen Elizabeth II from his premises during her State visit in May.
Judge Paul Kelly today ordered John Stokes to give an undertaking to remove the sign from outside the Players Lounge in Fairview, and not to erect another one.
“You have a perfect right to protest as long as you do this within the law,” the judge said at Dublin District Court. “I’ve no doubt there will be a planning issue with a sign that size.”
Mr Stokes, the father of Celtic footballer Anthony Stokes, said he reluctantly agreed to take down the controversial sign after a senior garda threatened to object to his application for six late licences
Insp Liam Dillon told the court his objection, based on public safety concerns, would be withdrawn if the banner was removed by 5pm.
The publican agreed, stating the livelihoods of his 12 staff members would be at risk if he did not get the late licences at the pub.
Outside the court, Mr Stokes (54), vowed to continue his protest against the queen’s visit. “I’ll just have to find another way that’s acceptable to An Garda Síochána."
Mr Stokes claimed his objection was not against the queen as a person, but as the head of state and commander of the British Forces.
“This is nothing against English people. We’ve a lot of English people in the pub, we show English football, and we’re quite happy to do that,” he said. “I do feel it’s not the right time for the queen to visit this country and I feel I have a democratic right to express that view. She still occupies part of our country and as long as she does I will always object to her presence in this country.”

I hope the people of Ireland stay away from this visit and give an emphatic message that the Queen is not wanted over there.

I find it sickening that the red carpet is going to be rolled out for her while 6 of Ireland's counties are still under the rule of a British Government. Almost as sickening as when these German fuckwits toddle up to Balmoral in their tartan outfits for a bit of shooting and a jolly up, in a fake attempt to show interest in Scotland.

I think what he did was stupid he could have put his life in danger his family and even his son life in danger add to the fact the staff at the pub etc was very stupid .
