That's gutting. Something he worked so hard for robbed from him in a few seconds. I hope he finds another job as a scout, coach or manager.

Easy to say he would have been one of our best defenders, but I think it's true. He was a really good young player and some have already mentioned the Barca game where he and Marshall were exceptional.

    Good luck John.

Sad but expected news i hope he can find anther role at celtic possibly in the youth set up where his own experience of coming up through the ranks could possibly be put to good use with todays youth teams.

The best centre half ive ever seen in a Celtic jersey. We should keep him on in some form and help him through his coaching badges.

He should go for Compensation from SFA, Ganea, Romania. He would get a few bob anyway coz that tackle was disgraceful.

He was just coming into the team as i started watching most games. He was a colossus at the back on a few occasions and had Milan sniffing around. There is absoloutley no doubt that this was all caused by that tackle. Shameful really.

Hope the lad gets all the support from people around him and from the club. I really hope he finds another role in football ( if he wants ) or a good career, not good times at all.

Any idea on what he will do next anyone ?

All the best John Mate, you are a Celtic Lad

Tell ya what I am truly gutted at this news. I hope the club keeps him about in some capacity because as someone said as a kid he was better than any other centre back we have now.

Maybe get him involved in the youth system. Crying shame, but such is the fickle nature of football!

This is a real shame although it has been inevitable for a long time now. :54:

The big fella was just starting to look like a real prospect when that coward Ganea 'done him'.

All the best big John in all your future endeavours. The Celtic fans will never forget your heroic performance in the Nou Camp against some of the finest forwards in the world at that time.

    Hail Hail John Kennedy. :shamrock:

When someone has so many knee injuries the signs are never good, but given modern advancements in surgery, I really thought the guy would be alright eventually.

What a player he looked like becoming as well, so ironic that the injury he suffered was probably at the highest point of his career playing for Scotland.

    All the best John

EDIT: Does anyone have a link to the tackle that Romanian * done him with? I've never seen it.

I've never seen it either bud, i don't think i really want to though.

Glad to see this thread stickied, gives everyone a chance to show their appreciation without the thread getting lost.

I hope he finds a good career for himself in whatever he chooses to do from now on.
