He's a real Celtic man, been through the entire system since he was a Bhoy - knows the Club inside out.

Has already made some great contributions to the history of the club, Barcalona & his testimonial charity donation.

He is clearly very intellegent & clearly well thought of by the hierarchy of the Club.

1st he went to scouting, after being retired - now he's coaching/managing the U19's as part of a coaching/management team.

The Club have given him every chance to succeed as a player, kept giving him new contracts when it was pretty clear he was *.

They then gave him every chance to stay with us, giving him pretty good jobs - considering his age & experience.

I really think that someone in a high position can see something special in big John, his resignation speech & testimonial show that he is someone very, very special.

I wonder if he's being groomed for being the future coach/Manager of the 1st team...

after all, the Club stated that the purpose of the NextGen series was to produce future CL standard players & to give them exposure to this type of experience. I wonder if the coach/manager is included in that too?

Anyway, we finally won away from home in the CL tonight, even if it was the U19's.

Big John looks like he knows what he's doing & he's got a good group of kids. I think he's be a brilliant Manager...one day.

Most people here will probably go mad if we appoint another inexperienced manager in the future, I'd love it though. Its great to see people who love Celtic in charge.

Maybe in the future, i think that he would need to start in english league 1 and work his way up. I would say he is 10 years away at the earliest but i could see it happen at some stage.

    * this "Celtic minded" manager thing they have going on, just because they're Celtic minded doesn't mean they're a good manager, drives me up the wall

Crucial two words there mate. As long as your talking in a more long-term sense then why not - as long as he keeps learning his craft :50: I'll be sure to find this thread in ten years time if ur prophecy comes to bear!

Lol, just looks that way to me.

Someone's keeping an eye out for him & they are in a very high position at the Club.

Looks like he's paying them back too.

Even if he is in the set up for 20 years it doesn't necessarily mean that he is going to end up in the most coveted position. Willie McStay did everything that JK did, was a youth player, was a 1st team player, his family links & Celtic are intertwined since day dot & he was highly successful in developing youth players as a coach etc. Eventually he had to leave to go get first team experience. If this is something that JK is looking at, he will need to do the same.

I'd happily give him a shot in a couple of years, might fail miserably but could be a Guardiola or Villas Boas, if we don't give him a shot well never know.

Well he'd be a cheap option so there's every chance with Lawwell and co.

That's a great shout actually. He's a Celtic man, he'd hopefully know how to have a strong defence and he's very dignified which I like about him. Such a nice, easy going guy when it'd be easy for him to have a chip on his shoulder.

Neil Lennon's a 'Celtic man'. Mjallby should know how to have a strong defence. It doesn't necessarily guarantee success.

Experience doesn't guarantee success, nothing does, I think John Kennedy could be great but no one can know for sure.

Very true mate, was just saying that having traits such as being a 'Celtic man' means little.

I never stated otherwise with either of your points.

Mjallby should know how to have a strong defence, you're right, but the proof is in the pudding. The puddin' being Majstorovic.

I know you never, I'm just saying that nothing can be guaranteed by giving examples. There's nothing I'd love more for us to have people like Lenny or Kennedy, i.e fans, leading us to success.

I'd support JK all the way if he was offered the job. Time isn't now, of course, but I'm happy he's still involved in the club.

what a * joke this would be. next we will have Willie mcstay polishing the boots, and john Clark promoted to head grounds man as he dose not know enough about celtic, there ain't nothing to know about celtic, its about how to get players in, that can play * fast and direct football, no 3 touch numpties, that we have in the team all ready, I cant believe that they would want a player that done * all being your manager, would rather have Hugh Keeven's as at least, he would tell them all, they are no up to the mark. instead of saying such * as when we are getting beat he is happy with the commitment.

Disgraceful comment. Done * all? Go and watch his performance in Barcelona. David Marshall got all the plaudits and deservedly so but John Kennedy put in one of the best defensive performances I've seen from a Celtic player. One of his tackles on Ronaldinho is right up there with the best tackles I've ever seen.

His extremely promising career was cut short through no fault of his own and the cuntishness of a fellow "pro". Would have been a club legend, there's no doubt about that for me.
