Sorry if theres already a post but I was wondering if weve got him on a long term contract to avoid a situation like danny wilson to liverpool or liam miller to man united, surely if hes not tied down it must be one of lennons main priorities

McCart delighted at Youth Academy signings

And there was further good news for the Academy with James Forrest signing a new four-year contract with Celtic.

The youngster, who has been in sparkling form for the Under-19s in their opening two league games against Aberdeen (2-0) and St Johnstone (4-0), was called up to the first-team squad for the game against Benfica in Toronto.

“He makes a big difference to our Under-19s,” explained McCart. “When James Forrest plays, he scores goals and he creates goals. In the two games so far he’s been instrumental in our success.”

4 years in 2009, and seems like McCart knew exactly what the * he was talking about.

Forrest loves playing for Celtic, he'll be here for a good few seasons I'd say.

He's seen McGeady & will want to emulate him.

Stay with us for a good while, until you have reached your pinnacle - then move onto newer pastures for mega bucks.

Good news that there is 4 years on paper...Obviously early days but James Forrest is the kind of player you can build a team around

    Yep first line of Wiki

Forrest signed his first professional contract with Celtic on 30 August 2009 signing a 4-year contract.

I'd offer him an extension to that at the end of the season.

I just think that we need need to get the ball to him more, I don't think there's a full-back in the country that could handle his pace, give him the ball!

Yep, your right - he will get a new contract at the end of the season as he is now a firdt team player. He will want a payrise, and deservedly so. He should count as part of the first team squad now - hopefully he can sign a 5-year deal, like McGeady did in 2007

Lenny will want him to just concentrate on his football at the moment and wait until the end of the season.

I predict Lenny will hand him another 4 year deal, or perhaps a 5 year deal at the end of the season. *, he might even do it in January

Well, guess Lenny wants him tied up now, and lets face it, he deserves a pay rise as he has lots to give us over the next 3 or 4 years. I'm sure he does.

If he continues to improve we may have a job keeping him long term, hopefully he'll be with us for a few years yet, would hate to see a repeat of the liam miller scenario...:shamrock:
