He's not good enough but as I've said numerous times I can't blame him.

He shouldn't he playing in these games in the first instance and it's our own negligence which has caused these problems.

I'm done with it. We (or at least most of us) could see it coming.

Dundee was about his level to be fair... just a shame that it's not working out for him and that he's being found out as not being anywhere near good enough for this stage.

Barring one poor moment and a couple pf slack passes I didn't think he was bad last night. Played better than Ajer

Same, he was better than Ajer and Lustig. He even played a few nice balls through midfield into Scott Brown, ones where the fans gasped thinking they were dangerous but they both made it through. Only really recall one dodgy moment when he looked like he was going to leave a ball for Ajer and the AEK guy almost sneaked in but he reacted and still got the ball first.

Ajer sold a goal and I mind gave the ball away in our own half and nearly got us countered, was also two or 3 times their forward was able to turn him and had Ajer scrambling trying to pull and hold him from behind.

Lustig thankfully never got attacked much but when he did he looked like Whittaker or Tavernier basically just stood there and let their wide player do what they wanted to go past him or get a cross in.

Aye it makes no sense to me that this thread has exploded since last night. The defender who * up would have played regardless last night (and quite rightly he's been superb). He may not be good enough long term, time will tell on that. But he's quickly becoming a scapegoat, and any mistake he makes is getting scrutinised

I agree, he's became the scapegoat for every wee thing now for a lot of our fans because 'we bought him from Dundee'. lotta pish if you ask me, he looks good and doesn';t make any more mistakes than others in the team who escape any kind of criticism.

Barring the errors that means that he played poorly. I didnt think he played poorly.

Ajer had an absolute stinker but Hendy was still pish as well. My mate said the same thing. I didnt matter that he played better than Ajer he still wasnt good enough. Ajers has shown numerous times that hes a good player, hendry hasnt .

I'm not going to direct criticism at him. It's not his fault. He shouldn't have been put in this position.

The reaction from fans towards him was disgraceful last night. Doesn't matter how poor you think a player is, you shouldn't be on his back before he's even had the chance to make a mistake. Would hardly have helped him.

There's always someone who will be the first to be picked out for criticism and be a bit of a scapegoat. At the minute, rightly or wrongly, it's Jack Hendry.

Forrest has been there, McGregor has been there, so he's not in bad company.

I'm not actually a huge fan of Hendry. I didn't really see much from him at Dundee, and he's obviously not had the best of starts to his Celtic career. It took him a while to actually start in a winning team, if I recall correctly, and I don't remember being too impressed with him last season.

I didn't think he was too bad last night, though. The thing with Hendry is, he actually hasn't played that much football, has he? Dundee was the first club that gave him regular football and, just a year later, he's at Celtic playing in important Champions League Qualifiers. I'd be surprised if he's played much more than 50 games. Compare that to Tierney and Ajer, who I'd bet have played at least twice the amount of matches despite being a couple of years younger.

He's big, reasonably quick and can control the football, so there's something there. But he doesn't have the greatest 'instinct' for defending, and he is sometimes guilty of making poor choices when he's trying to bring the ball out from the back. He'll get better with games, but it's whether he'll be given the time.

Id love to know what he done in the 6 games for Shrewsbury ,7 for mkdons or the 24 games at Dundee to convince us to throw £1.5 million at him . Did anyone even scout him?

Because Jozo was suspended. It’s what happens when you get needlessly sent off the previous round.

I worded that completely wrong there, I was meaning the * keeps getting suspended for big games. The Hun game and that. He’s chucked it. Being dropped is what happens when you show you can’t be trusted is what I meant.
