With these latest Hun stunts intended to make us look bad, I just realised that we may have missed the obvious response (and have been for a long time).

Remember when Artur Boruc was targetd by police, allegedly in response to complaints?

Well, supposing every time the famine song or any sectarian song came from Ibrox, Celtic fans insisted - in a polite, non-aggressive manner, on making complaints to the police about their behaviour? Given that the police always insist that incidents like Boruc blessing himself or players upsetting fans stem from public complaints, how could they ignore complaints of illegal racist and sectarian behaviour?

Surely they would either have to raise the issue officially in response to multiple complaints or the individual officers/match commander would have to explain why these complaints were not dealt with.

We may sometimes be inclined to forget that our rights (and responsibilities) as citizens are not suspended when we attend a football match. So I would suggest that this is done on a large scale - but without falling into the trap of being aggressive or abusive - and, if the complaints are not dealt with, telling the officer that you will be taking a note of their number and will be requiring a written explanation.

Should the police be forced to address this officially, I think the prospect of a few chants against Simon Weston (which I would urge people NOT to indulge in) would seem like a minor issue.
