andy hinkel is woefully under rated by some celtic fans; i'm so dissapointed that hes likely to never play for us again, cha isnt exactly that much better than him

in any case good to hear the operation went well!! :50:

best of luck to the guy whereever he ends up!

  2. :54:Yet another Celtic man that will leave without getting the chance to say goodbye .should have been given a new contract .

Even if he was fit by next pre-season, it's not inconceivable that we would offer him a short deal

Lennon was quite happy to sell him because his contract was running out, he needed cash for players and he had an idea he was getting a RB on a free.

I don't know if the RB he got was the one he thought he was getting, time will tell. I think Lennon should sit down with hinkel, tell him the club will support him through it and ask him if he wants to sign a new contract.

Good to hear everything went well with Hinckel's surgery. I have been a fan of Hinckel since he joined us and if he was fully fit he would still be our starting right back for me. It looks unlikely we will see Hinckel playing for Celtic again but either way I hope he makes a full recover and he is back on the field at top form.

I really like Hinkel. His only flaw IMO is he cant cope that well with serious pace but there is not much of that in the SPL. I feel sorry for him. I think he was victim of asset management and a will to get his big wage gone/get money for him in as its his last year.

Great player who has been very shabbily treated in my opinion.

Basically being made to sit in the stand during the CL qualifiers and pre-season, as he is in the final year of his contract and we were clearly trying to punt him.

It basically looks like we have no intention of giving him another contract, despite him being very consistent for us in his time here.

    Totally agree.

Hinkel has been one of the most consistent players over the years, not to mention, he's conducted himself brilliantly - both on and off the pitch.

dont get me wrong im a fan of hinkel, but last seaon was his only consistant season for celtic, the season before he was average at best(first half of the seaon he was rotten), and the half season before that he was inconsistant, so its not really over the years, agree with the second part tho

on to cha now, i think folk have judged him too quickly, give him a few more games and see how he does, he was terrific against inverness and also good against killie and hearts, but then he has had a couple of dodgy games too, but i'll give him a bit of time before i judge

  15. We don't just have a Left-Back problem, we have a right-back problem too.
The Problem is there are too many Good Right-Backs, and too many bad left-backs

Some people should be eating their words about Broony on page 1.

He is a likeable guy and speaks well of others at the club. I hope he is a success at coaching.

  20. I loved Andy while he was here. When I first saw this thread pop back up I thought maybe he was taking the football back up. Then I noticed it was from 2010. :56:
