    Disgusted.
I saw the footage on the news earlier, the poor wee girl just stood there staring at her Granda flaked out on the ground.

Hope they get a few slaps themselves.

The law is a complete and utter joke.

I was looking for the story and found this as well

Just 18 months for blackmail thugs who left pensioner dead

[IMG] Top to bottom: Steven Ward, Katherine Chainey and their victim Roger Day

A teenager who killed a "frail and timid" pensioner with a single punch has been locked up for just 18 months.
Roger Day, a 67-year-old "quiet and shy" bachelor, had been the victim of a long-running blackmail campaign by 17-year-old Steven Ward's girlfriend.
For more than two years, Katherine Chainey, also 17, demanded and received more than £18,000 from Mr Day - telling him a series of lies and hard luck stories to make him give her the cash.
But in January, when Mr Day stood up to the girl and refused to hand over a further £1,300, Ward attacked him outside his home in Yeovil.
The pensioner was punched once and fell to the ground, cracking his head on a concrete driveway. He died the following day after suffering "catastrophic brain injuries" and lapsing into a coma.
Ward, who admitted manslaughter, was given an 18-month term in youth custody, as was Chainey, who admitted four counts of blackmail.
But both sentences came under attack for their leniency. Peter Smyth, of the Police Federation which represents rank-and-file officers, said: "In all cases where a victim meets death through violent means the sentence should reflect the public's outrage.
"And that sentence should be a considerable sentence - put simply we would say 18 months is just not enough."
John Cruddas, a former Yeovil Mayor and Liberal Democrat councillor, added: "Eighteen months is an insult for a man's life. The sentence should have been years - not months. It makes a mockery of the justice system."
Bristol Crown Court heard how Chainey began receiving "innocent gifts" of money from Mr Day some years ago when her father lived next door to the pensioner.
At the time she was living in a children's home and her father opposed the handouts she received from the retired engineer when she visited.
Alan Large, prosecuting, told the court that Chainey began pestering Mr Day for money and that her demands swiftly "developed into a determined pattern of avaricious behaviour".
She repeatedly returned to Mr Day for money "because he was a soft touch", it was said.
Lying about needing a private operation or claiming she would have to live "on the streets", she was asking for hundreds of pounds from Mr Day "three or four times a week".
In reality, the teenagers were spending the cash on DVDs, computer games and an expensive flatscreen plasma television. Mr Large said as the demands increased Mr Day decided that he would not give Chainey more cash.
Chainey then began blackmailing him by threatening to tell both the police and her father about him giving her the money.
Mr Day was terrified that the girl's father would attack him if he found out about their friendship.
The court heard that Ward was a "high achiever" at school who had been in the Scouts and Army cadets.
Conversely, Chainey had been in care and suffered a "difficult childhood".
She was Ward's first girlfriend and the teenager of previous good character had become besotted by her.
Sentencing, Judge Charles Gray told Ward: "Your punch was responsible for the death of an old man who had done you no harm and was clearly vulnerable."
Turning to Chainey he said: "Your treatment of this elderly and vulnerable man was unforgivable.
"You made a misery of what turned out to be the last years of his life."
Ward's father Peter said outside the court: "We cannot condone Steven's actions. My sorrow goes out to Mr Day's family.
"We had no idea this was going on. If I had I would have reported it to the police myself."

The UK is now reaping the rewards of a very liberal "enlightened" judicial system and left wing political elite who see the criminals as victims they can throw into numerous courses, care programmes and therapy sessions instead of delivery some serious punishment.

Harsh punishment is a deterrent to most. If for example there was a mandatory 10yr prison sentence for carrying an offensive weapon, far less kids would carry them. Likewise if the sentence for involuntary manslaughter was 10yrs, far less people would be so handy with their fists.

On any given day you can scan through a handful of newspapers and pull out stories like the above where horrible and heinous crimes are rewarded with paltry sentences and those who carry out the crimes are left laughing at the victims.

children among four found dead in Hampshire house
[IMG] Police have cordoned off the scene while investigations continue
Four people, including girls aged one and two, have been found dead at a house in Hampshire.
The girls and a woman had been stabbed, while a man was found hanged on the stairway, the ambulance service said.
Neighbour Alayna Brooks said she had heard the children's grandmother scream at the property in Provost Street, Fordingbridge.
Ms Brooks said she had run into the house and found the family dead.
She said the grandmother usually picked up her grandchildren on a Monday, which had led her to raise the alarm.
The police were then called at 1120 BST.
    FROM THE SCENE

Continue reading the main story Tom Hepworth BBC South
A police helicopter has been circling overhead in this usually quiet market town.
And a team of forensic officers are picking through the house.
Dozens of journalists and satellite trucks have filled the area.
The neighbours are in a state of shock. They say the family are well liked in the town and the man was a driver for a food company.

The bodies were removed from the property on Monday evening and taken to the Royal County Hospital in Winchester, where post-mortem examinations are due to take place.
A full search and forensic examination of the property is continuing.
Ms Brooks said she was one of the first on the scene and described the family as "gorgeous" and that "everyone loved them".
She said the man was a driver at a food delivery company.
"I loved them. As neighbours, we knew each other really, really well," she said.
    "I am appalled, upset."
She described the man and woman as "so loved up" and said she was not aware the family had any problems, such as financial worries.
[IMG] Neighbour Alayna Brooks said she was one of the first on the scene
She added they had recently returned from a week-long trip to Weymouth in Dorset.
The Reverend Tim Daykin, who was vicar of Fordingbridge until 2005, knew the mother and eldest daughter.
Mr Daykin, who works for the BBC, said he only saw them two weeks ago and that the eldest daughter had recently attended his granddaughter's birthday party.
"The whole community will be shocked and totally saddened.
"They're a family that are very well known in the local community, they're certainly the sort of people who've contributed to the local community and have earned the respect and the affection of many, many people, particularly younger members in the community.
"Because I know the family, I feel personally deeply saddened, shocked and just numb."
Adam Crew, from the Ship Inn pub, said: "I've had people coming in talking about it but no-one knows much details about it yet.
"Fordingbridge is just a quiet rural town so this is a big shock for everyone to hear that bodies have been found."
[IMG] Post-mortem examinations are due to take place on Monday evening and Tuesday
Acting Supt Gary Cooper, of Hampshire Police, would not confirm that it was the children's grandmother who found the bodies.
But he said: "We believe it was a relative who came to the address this morning.
"On entering the address, they found four people dead."
When asked if they had suffered a violent death, he said: "It is a very unusual occurrence but something we are investigating with scenes of crime officers and the major crime branch."
The house where the bodies were found is set back from a row of cottages next to a stream at the heart of the New Forest.

Its a * disgrace the uk law that wee * like that can murder someone, infront of his grand daughter aswell which makes it even sicker if it could get any worse. I hate this manslaughter pish, they committed murder and thats what it should be treated as. They will both probably serve 2 years max after 'good behaviour' which is another * joke. This is the problem with britain, we are not hard enough on criminals and the jail is like a * holiday camp. Send them away to get punished and they get to use the gym to get strong, play ps3s and xboxs, watch sky tv, read the papers and all that, i say put them into solitary confinement for there entire jail time no matter the offence, snds harsh but if you cant do the time dont do the crime!!

I remember reading in the paper the other week some guy caused a death by driving on the wrong side of the road, and said guy got community service. Community * service for ending someones life:47:!

Agree with the sentence to carrying weapons getting a set term of punishment in jail!

I saw the footage of this attack which I found very hard to stomach. I would want to kill somebody who did that to a granda with his wee granddaughter. Hope they get smacked about big time and their lives are * from now on.

Shameful sentence. No wonder people don't give a * what they do to others when that is the kind of punishment they get.
