who would like to see seedings for groups taken away for tournaments like the Champions League , World Cup and European Championships?

It's all geared to get the big teams through but is making tournaments boring.

What would make it more exciting is being able to pull anyone out the hat , imagine a group like Barcelona , Real Madrid, Bayern Munich,PSG , 2 great teams will still go through but what a great few matches to watch.

Then you have the Word Cup group of Death for England who have been drawn in a group with Spain, Argentina and Germany,

Just my thoughts on it as I'm really starting to get bored with the Champions league as you can more or less predict the top 2 from every group usually.

Time to get them all in one big pot and get Rod Stewart to do the draw!

Something needs to be done to alleviate the gap between the richest teams and the rest but I know nothing will.

Ever since the formation of the G14 (or even before that) everything is about creating these super clubs as that's how you sell the tv rights to foreign countries. People in India or China couldn't give a * about the EPL, they want to watch Man Utd and Liverpool, or Madrid and Barca.

Financial Fair Play isn't about curtailing the spending of the top clubs, it's about stopping teams like Man City appearing from nowhere and upsetting the richest ones.

I'm not someone who's '#againstmodernfootball' but the top clubs spending this much money is honestly complete bullshit. Can't see myself ever falling out of love with football but it's definitely lost a lot of its appeal in many ways.

I'd like the Champions League to be a 64 club, 16 group tournament comprising of the 54 European league champions and the numbers made up by 1 second place team from each of the top 10 rated leagues. Totally unseeded and knockout format after the group stages. It will never happen right enough as money rules football and there's also the problem of the Europa League will technically have a higher standard of teams.

The seeding system in any competition is bullshit and designed to keep the big teams in it as long as possible, although it's funny as * when it backfires such as France getting papped out at the group stages of the 2002 World Cup and Spain in 2014 so it might be worth keeping it for the WC.

Nothing wrong with seedings, if you're good enough you will progress if you ain't you won't

From next season onwards 16 out of the 32 teams will be from 4 leagues (England, Spain, Italy and Germany) as all top 4 sides from the top 4 nations get to avoid qualifiers. So, thats 50% of the sides from just 4 countries before you bring in sides like Monaco and PSG from France.

They don't want sides like us even in the competition to begin with let alone the last 16 - well perhaps they don't mind having us in it because we have a bit of history etc. But they couldnt give a * about Qarabag, or Apoel. They'd be happy with 32 teams from the top 5 teams if they could have their way.

So, I don't think they'll ever do away with the seedings, would really mess up their plans. I wouldnt do away with seedings either. We have no chance of finishing in the top two thats true, but it does make sure that 3rd and 4th seeds can battle it out for 3rd and the Europa.
