Ally Begg read a quote out on Celic Telly tonight with Grav's agent saying he wants to stay put but Celtic want him to find a new ckub in the summer. This tallys with a feeling a few of us have had re WGS getting fed up of him not following instructions on the pitch.

I'd like the guy to stay as when he hits top form he'll have something to offer. Having said that his departure wouldn't be a disaster and it might free up vital wages for our quest to find Jan a top notch strike partner.

If we lose Grav we will need to invest in a quality midfielder imo as well as a striker. I think Grav has much to prove but he's helped us through to the last 16 so far. Lets hope he takes us further before we get to see his best.

Yeah cos football agents are well known for their honesty. And Celtic would try and punt a player by allowing Ally Begg to read out a statement saying we want rid and thus lowering any potential offers.

    I don't believe a single word of it...:87:

It's all agent's spin...I have not read or heard anywhere the WGS
would let Tommy G go,....on the contrary WGS knows full well that
Graveson is having to cover for Lennon's lack of mobility and speed
    in the midfield..

If anyone is going in the summer, I would say it is Lenny..

Maybe WGS just did that ... Paul Hartley, less than half the price.... just a thought :86:

Another good point. It's possible they see Hartley as replacing Grav.

lenny has postitional discipline, while gravesen runs about daft like a 10 yr old playing in a sunday league, and is out of position 60% of the time

Words attributed to Thomas Gravesen agent John Sivebaek may have been said while the Celtic midfielder was still at Real Madrid.

A quote that circulated around the internet yesterday appeared to suggest Celtic has told Gravesen he was free to look around for other clubs ahead of a move away from Parkhead in the summer. However, after some digging it seems the words came from optimistic Charlton fans, who used an old quote referring to a move away from Real Madrid, not Celtic.

Sivebaek's original full quote appears to have been: "He would like to stay, but the club want him to look elsewhere. He loved England and he is only 30 so he could still play at the top level. So why not move back to England? He's not looking to leave Madrid, but it seems that he's not going to play there. He's not keen on leaving but if he's not going to play, he will look at other options."

That appears to have been spun into: "He would like to stay, but the club want him to look elsewhere. He loved the Premiership and he could still play at the top level."

But, putting that aside, now is the time to get behind Gravesen because, although he may not look to be the most composed of players at times, he could still prove to be the key figure in Celtic's midfield next season. He has the class and the ability, and hopefully when the midfield settles down he will show the form that earned him a move to Real Madrid.

Gravesen is a good player, you can see it in spells during games. Whatever happened to giving people a chance? I hope he makes all his doubters eat their own words.

for 45k doing it in spells against the likes of falkirk is not good enough.
running around like a headless chicken for the majority of games is certainly not good enough.

If he goes, i wont loose sleep. Hartley is easily as good as him and we can use his wages better for a quality centre half or another striker

This smells like BS to me. Gravesen has been inconsistent so far this season. But he has had his moments and no doubt will make some more telling contributions before the seasons done. I also think that once he gets a full pre-season behind him and he is fully settled in we will see the best of Gravesen on a consistent basis next season.

    Not worried about it.
If he goes we can get a better player on his wages.
