Gordan Strachan - What a major let down

Not one * decent quote since he started.

His post/pre match interviews have all been NORMAL. when he was in the EPL you'd look forward to his comments now he just sounds like an other manager.

I'd say give him 3/4 more games to say something funny and off the wall or give him the sack.

 

totally agree mate his post match interviews , in the epl where pure class, maybe hes saving them for the double header with the huns.

 

and as we all know there are enough funny things to say about the huns these days

 

pmsl ...Nah I see what you mean though, I was expecting him to take the * out of the huns and the media but nothing yet . Once some poor journalist decides to mess with Strachan and annoy him, then you can expect a good laugh. He is handling the media well mind you, thats a really good strength he has...he knows how to keep them at bay. Respect to GS.

WGS may be more careful now he knows what the biased media are like in Scotland. One wrong word and the media will slate him. Example..if he says something funny about Rangers, yes we will laugh, but the media, especially the Daily Ranger will call for him to be fined and the SPL will probably bring him on charges of bringing the game into disrepute...

....That's the Scottish media and the SPL for ya!

 

After Artmedia, Motherwell and Ibrox GS knew he was walking a fine line so he has dispensed with one liners. If we hit the front we'll see the return of his put downs.

That was very funny Gordon Strachan has all ways said what he feels,which is good in a way,can't wait to see Chewin the fat or offside with Tam cowan+with johnathn watson doing G.S that will be funny! eh bhoys?

 

GS is focussed on getting the results and performances like against motherwell every game. When he's ready he'll come out and play mind games with the media. It will be funny as the huns will fall for everything he says like idiots because its the Celtic manager saying it, think of Kevin Keegan x 100

 

Totally agree mate.
At the moment he's being too loyal to some of MON's tried and trusted quotes, one or two of which haven't been fully pulling their weight this season. Some of his young quotes have showed real potential and shouldn't be scared to bring them on if the post match interview is sounding a bit stale. I think once the confidence is there, we'll see some new soundbites gelling well together in a new, more fluent style.

 

martin delievered the best before and after qoutes of any celtic manager ,id * myself at the socalled journos .
He left allcomers bamboozled cause they where not quick enough on their feet to counter his patter . We all know ,when martin is on his game he is the best manager around , no fukn question

 

i know he isnt givin all the banter but that is becase this league is more pressured than the epl he needs time to settle and that will take at least a season.
I didn't think he would be good for celtic at the begining but he is doing wonders for the club now and i have alot of respect for him so give him time and the banter will flow am sure

In his pre-match comments he went into a fit of laughter when asked if he'd think we would win 5-0 and made some comments about setanta moving to cover the finnish leagues instead, not gut bursting stuff but you can feel a belter coming out soon.

 

Alot of Strachan's antics are clever psychology he'll deflate potential stress with humour and play everything down be it good results or bad to hammer home to us that he's been doing everything the same since he arrived and it's the players that win or lose games.

 

this tread is a sign of Celtic team doing well lately, so fans can argue about GS's sense of humour ..

 

I think Strachan is biding his time. After all we don't want a Jim Leishman effect at the club where all the media are looking for is a quick funny rather than in depth views on the team and games.
I think he realises that there is more pressure at Celtic, and is concentraiting more on the football side of things.
Can you imagine if we were in the Huns shoes, all the media would be crying out or him to be sacked!
C'mon the daily Ranger, give us a cracked Rangers crest!!!
