All comes down to the service he is receiving for me. 1st half was just balls punted over the top our of his reach, Forrest wasn't taking men on and getting a cross in, Mikey was taking every one on then turning around to take them on again instead of crossing.

Jota comes on and he gets 2 balls into the centre, 1 he rattles the bar and the other he slots away..

    He's then taken off!

Class player, I like a big solid forward and with more confidence (& Service) the goals will flow.

On the topic of his link up play, he holds it in well enough but has so far not shown that he has the vision or knowledge of when to knock it off to someone in a better position. Almost as though he enjoys the battle a bit TOO much.

Some great examples of the above from the Motherwell game for example. He holds his man off really well but just needs to realise it quicker or notice others in a better position.

If he can do that, he will be a * of a lot more successful and crucially, useful to us. It isn't all about goals from him, which is a bizarre thing to say about the top scorer in Holland last season.

The point @Moore makes above about service is important too. prime Ruud Van Nistelrooy wouldn't have shown anything in that first half last night with the quality of our wingers.

He's currently sitting at a goal every 190 mins (4 goals 16 played) no assists to his name yet but from watching games it's been evident that his play has led to goals so there's more contribution there that does not translate to stats plus a lot of chances that were almosts, if a couple had gone In he'd be looking a lot better on raw numbers. Plus on the assists he's given a few good opportunities to people that haven't been taken

He offers a good option when I've seen him, I'll forget the earlier few where it was odd minutes while just back from a long injury and no preseason it sharpens a bit more.

I like him, he needs to pack in the diveyness he can have and sharpen some of the passes and his game awareness he'd be a complete player that would be a huge contributer, but of he was the complete package he'd not be here, so our aim is to develop him into that

He is much needed, he wears down and bullies defenders, falls over people, drags people around. People forget that this is much needed in our team, he does the brute force work, the others do the nice football. Great he scores but personally I don't mind if he doesn't. Others can chip in comfortably. Noone else is available in the squad currently that can do what he does.

He settles down after his injury, a bit more composure and you could see a similar striker to Pierre. He has a bit to go but I can see similarities at times.

That's some comparison. Big Pierre took a mean free-kick. That was a big part of his game.

I see him being more similar to Sutton, but again without a part of his game, the aerial threat - as yet.

Probably more his stature and style of play. It is a big comparison and I don’t think he will have the same standard from free kicks but something in his style reminds me of PVH.

Looks like it will be Giakoumakis from the start up front tomorrow night so if he is doing the media there.

Loved the big man's presser. Whatever you think of him, he's clearly got the mentality required and speaks again to Ange's insistence upon signing people, not just players. I reckon he's going to be a big success over the next 3-4 years.

Seemed very comfortable answering questions ( even when the question wasn't a question ).

Hoping he hits his stride and gets the rewards his input deserves. He was unlucky against the huns and at least he is getting in goal scoring positions.

I'm sure his game will improve the more he plays and we need someone with his presence up front at times

Glad he got his goal, should relax him a little and more will follow.

Once he really works off the rust and gains full confidence. No doubt he bangs them in like Kyogo.

He's getting the service and also getting himself into the right areas...it's just been annoying as * that bizarrely He's shots are being saved by some fair decent saves...if not for that in the few weeks he could have had about 6 or 7 goals more to his name which really would have boosted his confidence and form.

Either way it's potentially the first time since Larsson, Sutton and Hartson (I know that's a mad comparison) that I feel all of our strikers our certs to bang in goals.

Kyogo, Giakoumakis and Maeda all look like they could achieve double figure returns in a full season.

    I’m just not seeing it.

He’s a grafter but he seems to enjoy wrestling defenders more than playing football. Constantly getting caught offside as well.
