Only criticism I have is he needs to release the ball at times. Seemed to enjoy that physical battle that much that he just wanted to see how long he could hold on to it when being pressured by their players. Guy loves it :84:

He's just unlucky not have more goals to his name....* could have nearly had a 3 alone just against the huns if not for mcgregor keeping it from being an utter mauling

Yep. The only thing he was too slow doing yesterday first half. Couple of time's he backed in and could've slipped a pass for a break but he dithered..

Was better at it second half..

When he backs in, I've literally seen no one body him out the way. He's strong as *..

He's a must start against the sheep. He'll honestly terrorise them physically..

He's very different to Kyogo, who is all about clever runs, and Maeda, who is all about pace. I'm not saying that's their only strength before people jump on that. I'm well aware what else they bring to the table.

I like GG a lot. He needs to work on his decision making when releasing the ball to team-mates. Goals will come as the positions he gets into a good.

His biggest attribute is his strength and hold up play. He's not scared to get in amongst the opposition. It's something we've lacked as an option for ages - a bully up top.

His movement is creating great opportunities for us as well , twice in as many games he's dragged the centre backs out leaving Abada v sleepy left backs to score against the Well and huns. Also dragged the centre back out past the front post for Rogic's second goal.

Hes doing well but needs to start scoring a few.

3 goals in 13 ain't enough and he should have had about 5 or 6 last few games alone.

    Hopefully it will come.

Lets hope he gets going on the goal front on Wednesday. He is playing well but needs a goal.

If either of them come upstuck in a game they provide great alternatives to each other. In many ways, it's the ideal situation to be in. Like someone else said, he's getting himself in all the right spots and the goals will start coming along soon. Given the attacking threat we have from midfield now, I guess it doesn't really matter if he's not matching Kyogo for goals 1:1, as he seems to unlock defences in other ways and really allows players behind him to have space to drive into and get their own goals.

    Ok im gonna say it..

We missed him tonight big-time. Said last night that I didn't feel this would have been a game for Maeda and it wasn't.

Big man was harshly dropped IMO.

Is it just me or do the refs here already have him marked? Every single little hand on a back gets blown for a foul. Poor *'s getting kicked and grabbed and everytime it's a foul against him, must be wondering what the * he can do.

Shows you how important he's been the last 2 games, even without him scoring he's an absolute hassle in the box, wins us free kicks and bullies opposition CB'S.

I suspect Ange was resting him moreso than dropping him, and he'll be starting at the weekend.

My only issue with him was that he should've gone down when Hayes collided with him. Would've won us a freekick up the park.

He doesn't score but he roughs up the defenders, and that's something we've been missing for a while.

I can understand Ange's thinking of tiring Aberdeen's back line trying to keep up with Maeda and then GG to see out the game but GG should've started and then Maeda should've been brought on to stretch them at the back.

    Should've started..

Was surprised he didn't as him dominating centre halves and Maeda on to run and press them high is the last thing they want when knackered..

Gave us more in his short cameo..

Should've put Hayes on his * though..

I dont give a * if he scores or not, he hassles defenders, wins high balls, keeps us up the other end of the pitch and drags defenders out of position for our wingers and midfield to then exploit, we missed that badly tonight. as far as I'm concerned he's our #1 striker till Kyogo is back.
He has more value to us than just goals.

A lot of the same traits as JVOH had for us in the WGS years.

Can see the Poundland Diego Costa comparisons.

However, although he is a total nuisance to centre halves being caught offside or not concentrating on the baw because he’s more interested in the physical battle is as frustrating for us as fans as it must be playing him!

There is a player there and we've obviously not seen the best of what he is capable of yet. All those goals he scored in the Eredivisie and yet that's the one aspect of his play in the Hoops that we've really not gotten to witness yet.

But at least he is prepared to put in a shift, which is more than can be said for more than a few strikers that we've had in the past that couldn't be arsed unless things were laid on a plate for them.
