Getting Celtic in the English Premiership League

F**k the Premiership. Forget about it and let us try and get our own league and teams back on the European stage especially ourselves!

 

Being in the premiarship wont make us any less Scottish that we are not, no one says Cardiff are a English tearm. The only teams from the SPL that could survive in the EPL are Celtic and Rangers. Pish like Hearts, Livingstone etc would do well to survice the Conferance. Who cares if the SPL goes under when we leave? Its either we go under by staying or the SPL goes under and Celtic are back on the big stage year on year. We owe the SPL or the other teams in it nothing.

 

Do they sing the english national anthem at any cup finals in england?

That would turn nasty if we were there!

 

1) We'd be put into the championship at best, I've more chance of winning the euro millions without a ticket than us being put into the premier league.

2) No CL for a couple of years at best

3) No CL, no premiership status, no good reason for a player to join Celtic over any other club

 

It'd be worth the sacrafice to start off. Plus, you see players joining other teams without CL football quite frequently. Think if we were to start off in the Championship and work up then it'd get us use to the new life in Premierhsip, not expecting to win every game. Even though not getting CL football to start off with, it'd work in Celtics way in the long term.

 

In England do you get into Europe by winning the FA or that other cup? + our first season down there, say we won the SPL in our last year up here would that not get us into Europe for the next season that would be our first in England?

 

i dont think it is possible... first of all why only celtic should be moved to premiereship? secound - what will happend if celtic will be relegatet lover division just theoriticly but we have to think about all possibilities, third - why celtic should start from the better position than standard english brand new team couse brand new team starts from the lowest div. and so on... the idea of playing at premiership is nice but impossible becouse of other factors. the only way is to marge both leagues at all but nobody will agree on it.

 

according to another topic here were 23rd best team in europe according to last 5 seasons in europe we wouldnt even be on that chart if we were in the premiership, I think Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool are stronger than us so although we may be playing better quality football we might not have the richh history of european football we have if we were in the EPL

we would probaly gubb half of the teams in the premiership so we could hack it down there but it will never happen

 

Well that would be our ticket to Europe then if we had to start in a lower league.

 

This thread strengtens the case for us not ever going near the English League. The idea sounds good at first but thats about it
