He just did something similar against Portsmouth about 20 mins ago. He smacked someone with his arm across the back of the head (can't remember the guys name), off the ball for no apparent reason. Pointlessly violent. Pretty sure the FA will pull him up for that one and he'll end up missing the Man U game.

Aquilani was outstanding tonight and some of his passing and one touch football is a joy to watch. He certainly has similarities to alonso. Trust me as someone who watches aquilani that if he plays on sunday you'll wish he hadn't.
