  2. Would be good to have Forster on loan for the season to let us spend the whole budget on a targetman and then next year we can buy him and even try to get Gordon on a bosman too and have Forster and Gordon battling for the number 1, two good Keepers been a while since we had that and with Gordon usually always getting injured then they'd both get a decent amount of games anyway.

Celtic are close to completing a move to bring Fraser Forster back to the club on a second loan spell from Newcastle United, Neil Lennon has confirmed.

The goalkeeper, who kept 24 clean sheets while with the Glasgow side last season, will remain at the club until the end of the 2011/12 season, with Celtic having the option to purchase him at any point throughout.
Manager Lennon confirmed on Wednesday that an agreement is in place between the two clubs for the deal to go ahead, with a number of "loose ends" needing tied up to formalise the transfer.

Celtic were initially told any move to re-sign the 23-year-old would not be welcomed by the English Premier League club, who were keen to keep him in reserve alongside Tim Krul and Steve Harper.

The Glasgow side pursued a number of other goalkeeping targets, failing in a move for Polish keeper Grzegorz Sandomierski and taking Croatian Stipe Pletikosa on trial.

But Lennon is now close to securing the return of his primary target this summer and Forster is now expected to be included in Celtic’s Europa League squad for the play-off round games with FC Sion.

Forster is yet to make a competitive appearance for Newcastle United and returned to the north east of England with hopes of challenging for the number one jersey this term.

Krul however was preferred in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal at St James’ Park, while Harper is back in training after a knee injury and is expected to replace Forster on the Newcastle bench.

Forster has been with Newcastle since 2005 and has also spent time on loan at Stockport County, Bristol Rovers and Norwich City, winning League One while with the Canaries in 2009/10.

Just on SSN. Lenny quoted as saying a loan move has been agreed for this season.

Should be registered in time for Sion match!

Job done and thank * we've sorted the GK position - now for a ST and LB!

If Forster is signed, i don't think he should walk straight back into the first team just yet, Zaluska has done ok so far and it would be unfair to drop him, especially if it is only for Forster.
