    FC Augsburg vs Celtic Match Chat | 10 July 2012 6PM

    Celtic kick off with their first match in Pre-season with their first game in Germany against Augsburg of 1.Bundesliga. Kick off time still to be announced. I'd expect a Celtic XI for this and a good chance for our youngsters to face a Bundesliga team.

    As Dec says, last thing you want is to get humped. Friendly or not. Reasonably strong team, bearing in mind Lustig and Samaras probably won't play.

    Would like to see Bangura get some game time pre-season. Still feels harsh to really judge the guy.

    We will get beat off of this mob unless we play a full strength team. I watched them a couple of times in the Bundesliga last year, very decent side.

    Want to be winning every game to create a winning mentality. I'd hope for a near enough full team, with perhaps a couple of youngsters getting a chance to shine - Watt & Ibrahim hopefully.

    I'd play 5-3-2. Hopefully learn the players to be hard to beat and play counter attacking football. A system in place to play in the champions league,espically away from home.

    Interesting when you consider that we don't have a particularly scary back two partnership (Rogne and Mulgrew; though they compliment each other well), but in front of them, we have the likes of Wanyama, Kayal, Brown, and Ledley, who all have good defensive qualities.

    Puts us in good stead for a tough CL campaign. Hope we can keep them all fit. :50:

    Strongest 11 there's plenty of time in the league to bring in youth as it'll be won by November. This is about champions league. I expect a good strong display, is it on TV? That's my day off :D

    So that's 6pm UK time.

    Don't underestimate Augsburg, they will be tough to beat, the Bundesliga is one of Europe's top three leagues IMO and all the teams play attacking football.
