Big Jan hasn't been at his best but he has a good touch and links up well with players. He is usually good in the air but with his confidence in peicies at the moment hes jumping to early and trying to hard to power the ball into the net and only half connecting. Being slow doesn't help him as everyone wants to see pacey players playing.

He done well today and farly well last week. He may have an upturn in his fortune, I think we score more goals when he plays although lately he doesn't seem to be scoring himself.

In responce to that video, folk could easily just post his stats for this season. I like the big man but he's been * poor this season.

The thing I hate most about him is his injuries and how many games he misses a season. Also he's not a player who takes 2 or 3 games to get back into the swing of things either.

On top of that we only have 2 other strikers at the club.

Sometimes players deserve a bit of faith from the supporters, Jan being a prime example.

He will win us the title.

Sorry but he's been dire lately. He was given it on a plate several times today and ballsed it up. The words cow, * and banjo come to mind.

I think Jan is good, he's going through one of those phases that most players go through.

He'll soon get a goal then his confidence will go up and he'll start scoring more regurlarly...hopefully

Jan is the kind of player who will do nothing for the whole game but will pop up and score a very important goal for us.

He's a player I like. He can put himself about, he wins headers and he clearly has the heart for this club. I think McDonald plays better alongside him, and the 50 goals they shared last year is testimony to that. He's a capable goalscorer at a high level (64 in 160 at Twente, 90 in 187 with PSV, 40 in 88 with us).

That said, he is an incredibly frustrating player to watch over a season, mainly because of his tendancy to go downhill after injuries, injuries he suffers all to regularly. He's a player who takes too long to get back to his best, and a player who needs football to get back to his best. It's an incredibly frustrating situation but if we want him at his excellent best, which we obviously do, we need to make sacrifices and be patient.

He is not match fit yet. As you said, he needs about 8 games to get his touch back. Sammy has not got back yet and he has been back for months. Maybe tall players take longer to get their 1st touch back when they have been out.

    he's 6 foot and jumps 5'11"

    he's immobile

he constantly fouls due to his lack of ability

he wins very little in the air.

    he's not scoring goals

    he's injury prone

important goals, man utd away then an important goal drought until the end of last season - rangers - aberdeen in the cup (we got ko'd anyway in the return leg) - and dundee utd.

Acceptable for one of our highest earners?

Naka has scored more important goals and he's a midfeilder.

i meant it more like, nobody hated him on those two occasions and nobody hated him when he scored his 20 odd goals last season, a lot of people are just making him the new scapegoat and from what i can see hes not any worse than the other two strikers we've got. a guy behind me yesterday shouted after he missed the pen "hes gonnae cost us the league", sorry but i dont see how 1 person in that team can cost us the league

He's not *. He's just in bad form. Look at Wayne Rooney ffs, how many goals does he score? Not that many. Do you see United fans calling him *? No, you don't. You see them respecting what he brings to the team. Why don't we do that with JVOH?

Torres is another example, he's hardly banging them in this season, don't see Liverpool fans calling for him to be dropped.

Get behind the big man, he's going through a bad spell that's all.

he has had enough chances, we cannot afford to keep giving him a place in the team, we need a change now, we can still win league, but statistics (which count) show he is not the answer, keep playing him and he may score one or two, but his presence disturbs the flow of our game, he has no pace, cannot read the game, isnt that good in the air, has no 'forwards instinct' give away a horrendous amount of free kicks and finally, he could not trap a bag of cement!, why have reserve strikers if they aint going to get a chance?, if anything, i would perhaps (as a last resort) start to bring him on later in games, but certainly NOT at the start, fresh impetus is needed now!

Samaras is even worse though. Jan's the best option available.

everyone just seems to see him as the new scapegoat because hinkel is clearly a player n naylor has been doin much better recently than he was at the start of the season
