I think some people on here are far to harsh on big Sammy, ye ok I am bias there, but how can you say he is a waist of space?

He isn't playing as a striker, his job was to play wide & inter-change with Kamara/ McGeady to pull the defense out of position, he done that today, he had good runs & didn't lose the ball in any threatening areas hence why Mogga kept him on.

Sammy isn't a natural striker anyway, he does play wide for Greece, & he used to be a winger, thats why its in his make up to run wide, when it works for him & he scores hes a hero on here, but some people think he should just stay in the box, he isn't that type of striker, he is a modern type striker, that will cover a lot of ground & link up the play, & will score his fair share of goals, if anything he works the hardest for the team. Nicolas Anelka does the same thing for Chelsea & you don't hear anyone moaning about why he isn't in the box..

As I said I maybe am a bit bias, but I dont understand why fans can't take to him, he does what hes asked to do, he maybe make the odd mistake, but what player doesn't? I don't see why Sammy gets the criticism the worst from the fans? Good thing also about him, he doesnt moan if hes left out the side either, when he comes off the bench he gives a 100% & you can see how direct we get when he comes on, because he can drive us forward. I think sometimes he tries to much & thats maybe why he can be frustrating for fans, but at least he gives his all & you can't fault the man for that..

He is our top scorer this season & one of our top performers, he had a bad game against Hamilton I will admitt, but since then we have brought in 2 stikers & lost one & all of a sudden Sammy is non-existent in some fans eyes, I'm not asking anyone to like him, but try appreciate what he brings to the side..

I'm with you 30stm87..I dont understand why Sammy is so despised by fans, he's just a different type of striker.

Sammy just doesn't have the intellegence to be a consistently good player - his form depends on good decisons, which depend on luck mostly, as he's too stupid to consistently make the right decisions.

some of his decisions were baffling but he is a good player and has scored a lot for us this season. if he was half as bad as some people make out then we would be 3rd in the league

aren't you a cup of sunshine?

Keane missed a few clear chances and kept the ball once or twice when he should have passed too but we'll never here about it from you will we?

Sammy is a second striker, a linkup man. He does that job well. I think we have a wealth of options with him, Keane, Rassy, Kamarra, and (when on song) Fortune.

However, Sammy is not a prolific goal man, especially when he hits a fallow patch. I think shifting him wide is an intelligent stroke as he'll help drag defenses as well as provide an outlet for those around him.

Also need I remind everyone that Sammy kept us afloat for much of the season last year until he got hurt.

I like him, but he's a confidence player and we need someone like Rasmussen instead.

he isn't a striker. he plays wide left, wide right, wanders aimlessly across the midfield, he plays wooden, he works hard but has no skill. can't finish, gives away five yard passes. you can say he had one bad game but i can follow and name at least five other bad games as well.

he's *, simple as. how kamara was substituted and not him today is a mystery. the wee ginger wanted all of the crap from this team except for him. about says it all doesn't it?

He's not despised by the fans. There's shouts of 'OOH AH SAMARAS' almost every game. He frustrates because he can be * then brilliant. Much like Aiden 'Ive the longest honeymOOn period ever' McGeady.

He's rank rotten, so frustrating to watch.

    1) He chooses the wrong option every time.
    2) Great for 1 minute then * for about 5 games after.
    3) Never gets in the box.
    4) Couldn't hit a cow's * with a banjo half the time.
    5) Tunnel Vision.
    6) Holds onto the ball for far too long to do needless dribbiling.
    7) Puts his hands over his face when he misses a sitter.
    8) Makes an * of himself in the press.
    9) Wears gloves when it's the middle of the * summer.

are you for real? Samaras made major contributions to Strachan's side for two seasons. The second season he picked up an injury (along with JVOH and Skippy) and played hurt for months. * he was a major contributor to winning the league when he was bought in january. Strachan also bought Killen so I'm sure that Strachan has the most reliable eye for talent in football.

He has no skill? For a big man I'd say he has much more skill than is usual. Look at his preseason goal vs. Tottenham. A 5 yard pass isn't always so simple when its the last step to unlocking a defense.

the guy is quality, he aint an out & out striker he links play well, holds the ball up well & drags the opposition all over the shop. he played in a role today more like the one he plays for Greece, his best position imo.

Keane has played a game and a half, Sammy has been here 2 seasons now.

He hits the ball like a big fairy, he seems incapable of putting his foot through a football. He does a nice bit of skill usually followed by falling flat on his *, hitting a powder puff shot or giving the ball away.

How often do u see him standing with his head in his hands every game or staring in disbelief as if 'how the * did I make a * of that?'

This is a guy who has now been jeered off the pitch twice this season at Celtic Park and who consistently exasperates his strike partner.

But no, we're all wrong and your right.
