    Thursday 5th Nov KO 18.00Hrs

A win here or even a point would be a very prestious result for us as we are up against a very good side who are currently 3rd in the Bundesliga.

They will be out to gain a victory after their defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach at the weekend.
I expect McCourt to start and I hope they put McGinn on the teamsheet this time :icon_mrgreen:
Our slim chances of progressing from this group hang on a victory.

It's an early KO so don't be late for this one.

Check the Supporters Info Thread if you are travelling to Hamburg.

if we play like we did against Killie we have a shot, we still need to be more ruthless upfront and Fortuné need to get the nod ahead of Skippy.

Pretty much agree with Green and White here.
We do need to be more clinical and we will have a chance.

More hopeful than optimistic once again.

As mentioned above we have to be more clinical in front of goal, no point making loads of chances if we don't convert them.

    Loovens
    Fox

    McCourt

    Fortuné
    Samaras

2-1 to the Bhoys (fingers crossed)

I really can't see us getting a win TBH. I'd like to see McCourt get a shot. We need to run at them and N'Guemo could be instrumental in any kind of result as he will press them and chase every ball.
Fortune may cause them some problems will his height. Here's hoping.

The more I see this midfield on paper the more it looks normal! Don't know what it is but them four names do it for me! Feel confident when they run out onto the park.

I reckon we need to play 4-4-1-1. With Zheng Zhi the 1 behind either Samaras or Fortune, as we will need 5 in midfield when hamburg have the ball. with mccourt and mcgeady on the wings, anyone else agree?

I would just make 2 changes from the side at the weekend, cos I thought we played well, so the confidence should be high, I dont think we will go with 2 strikers, cos we need to be cautious & not be to open & let in stupid early goals.. N'Guemo & Crosas were a great partnership in the middle at the weekend, as most have been saying for a while they 2 would work well togetheir & they did, & I dont see why Mowbray wouldnt go with them again. Maloney will proberly come back in & Robson in for McDonald to play behind Samaras, hopefully we get a good result, but tis good to see we have some good options for the bench now aswel.

I really dont have any optimism about this at all, theres just not enough people that you trust when you look around the core of our team.

    Hope Im wrong

    Hinkel - Loovens - Heid - Fox

    McGeady - N'Guemo - Robson - Maloney

    Fortune - Samaras

Fortun'e and Samaras can do a good job, although I wouldn't take out Skippy out of the mix when Fortun'e is back now. Too bad Zheng Zhi is out, I think we could do a lot with him, but N'Guemo and Robbo can also provide something. I hope our flanks doo a good job, even expect full-backs.

I can't expect a win here, but a dignified defeat or even draw would be acceptable.
