Emilio Izaguirre Appreciation Thread

This man has been by far the most consistent player this season. He is absolute world class. I hope we can hold on to this gem. He is possibly the best signing Celtic have ever made(time will tell). He defends and attacks with the best of them, could see him on any team sheet. I think he would be worth 30 mill in the premier.

Thought he was rather poor today.

 

Currently this guy is my hero, he is my Nakamura, in the team!

 

He's world class, another great performance today. He never stops, keeps going for the full 90 minutes non-stop.

 

Which means he was twice as good as any other SPL left back

Completely agree, thought he was our worst player to be honest. Great team performance for us and delighted to get the replay. I thought Izaguirre was poor going forward, never really got the better of Whittaker and Davis First game that I've had a bad word to say about him though, so I'm sure he'll bounce straight back.

 

You're not serious i hope. His touch and control was shown to be the best on the pitch tonight. Best player in Scotland period

 

Seriously? I thought he put in a great shift! Best feet on the park- equal to McGeady's standard. Izaguirre done great to ward of defenders to cross the ball in the box - shame when Celtic were down to 10 men, no one was there to meet the cross half the time.

Was ok today, just couldn't get past Whittaker. Why does he never smile though haha.

 

He is the best left back in the spl by miles , today he was poor caught out far too easy final ball was shocking and never had a great game at all ,

Great player far too over hyped based on what he has done in the spl.

 

Think his forward play was restricted as he was always up against 2 players as commons had been taken off when we went to 10 men so he was out there on his own with no overlapping players. Solid game without anything brilliant

 

if i was being completely fair, id say that * diouf had the best feet on the park

but izzy is class, great at both defending and attacking

people will mention him giving the ball away a couple of times today- I ask these people to consider 10 men, him trying to get forward, and there not always being a pass 'on'. He's got a wicked left-foot and is a total-athlete. Reminds me of Roberto Carlos, but without the shooting and more football intelligence perhaps.

 

His goalline clearance at the bigotdome last month was as vital as Sammy's goals.

He may not be the best player in the country but decent left backs are so rare he should probably be worth the most.

I think Izzy has been a magnificent player for Celtic since he started playing for us !
Understandably not all his games will be 100% in every game, but there again tell me ANY player who plays 100% in every game ?
Saw Alex Ferguson in the stands today and would not be surprised if Man. Utd put in a bid for him - thats how good he is!
Lets enjoy him for as long as we have him.Lets hope he can be a part of a great new Celtic winning team !
