Dont feel comfortable Majstorovic

Great win today but I feel like Majstorovic can be a liability a times, his handball today seemed strange, and I always feel nervous when he is on the ball.

 

I thought he played really well today.

 

I would let him go we need better .

 

Can't believe the Celtic fans that don't like big dan he's a leader which is what we need at the back remember when he was out for a while we missed him big time and it lost us the league cup not to mention since he's come we broke our clean sheet record in the spl

 

Daniel Majstorovic was the man who came into our back four and organised it at a time when it was looking a mess. I don't really care if he's not a silky footballer, Bobo Balde was hopeless with the ball at his feet but he did a great job for Celtic. Charlie Mulgrew and Thomas Rogne have both played well at centre-half for us this season but our main man at the heart of the defence has been Majstorovic.

 

think it's just the nature of the position. i felt comfortable with heid and big mick at the back but their record was worse. i feel less comfortable with dan but his record speaks for itself. it's probably just an issue of familiarity.

 

I would pick big Bobo over big Maj every day of the week.

Hes done the job and you cant ask for any more than that

Hes not my idea of what a defender should be ie tenacious/mobile

I actually like him but he always gives away silly fouls which really frustrates me. Also he corners etc are always aimed at him but he very rarely seems to get a header on target, apart from that I do like him

 

I respect everything he has done this season but he is too slow and will get taken apart by skill and pace we are building something special here and have no room for people that just can not cut it , he was a clown 2day and was very lucky to escape getting sent off today .

 

Too slow, bad positional sense at times and why does he so often lose the flight of the ball? Only getting away with it because of the very poor SPL. Its as well he doesnt come up against players with mobility like Sammy or kenny Miller. He would be left for dead every time they got facing our goal with the ball.

 

I think he was noticeably missed when he was out injured. I think he is decent

Down side about him is I Don't like the way he stalls with the ball in the box and you would think his head is like a 50p piece when he heads the ball.

exactly. centre backs are the last line of defence , so their errors are magnified far more than an attacking player . there is greater risk when a team has the ball at the back .

an spl conceding rate of 0.6 goals a game should tell you all you need to know about majstorovic , guy has been brilliant for us.

 

he is decent but i think he will get ripped apart in europe. for a big guy he doesn't win as many headers as he should and he gets himself in trouble by giving the ball away carelessly (his booking today is an example). saying all that i feel more comfortable with him there than when he isn't there

 

Does anyone else feel he should do better at set pieces for us purely win his height and physical build?

 

I like the big guy and he said alot of fantastic things about the club and the support after the game. It was strange that he handled the ball and he could have caused us alot of problems today, with the tackle that got him yellow carded which could have been a red.

He looks good in some games and has been the main reason why we have such a good defensive record this season but his distribution of the ball is sometimes shocking, giving it to the opposition alot and how many headers does he need to miss before he scores a goal?

Overall I would keep him but we do need a better CB this summer.
