There is so much wrong with this present Celtic team it just is not true, and I think things are going to get worse, as we are a shambles from back to front, and we have a Board that has no desire to improve things, it's like capitulation and incompetence of the highest order. This is the same Board that would not release the necessary funds to WGS in his final year which started the rot and the ascendancy of Rangers again, the same Board that employed Tony Mowbray, a manager who had just succeeded in getting his team Middlesborough relegated from the EPL with the worse ever goals against record, and the same Board who then went on to employ a complete novice in Neil Lennon to be manager of Celtic.

Do you have any confidence in this Celtic Board ?

Yes I do. I have confidence in them to keep our revenue growing and for us not to spend dangerously in a very difficult financial times.

So you are happy with this Celtic board racking up £9M debt too ?
You call that good financial budget keeping ?

have u seen a handsome hun
ive got concerns about every area of our club at the moment from the marketing dept that sanctioned that horrible yellow shirt to the board who are being to frugel which has totted up a 9 million pound debt whilst telling us the clubs the best run in the universe to our manager who seems incapable of fashioning a defence with any confidence in each other. but as a celt my overriding optimism tells me that it'll come good.....will it be this season......* knows.

Starting to contradict yourself there,if they did rack up 9mil debt, you would want them to spend more? Why dont you tell us exactly what the board should do?Im hearing Martin Bain is out of a job, maybe we should hire him instead??

Yes I have some confidence, don't think they're doing a bad job, but not very brilliant either.
At the end of the day it's not Derek Desmong playing * at the back and not defending set pieces is it? And John Reid aint missed any open goals for us.

Stupid point I know but just said it to make the point no matter what tactics or mistakes the non-playing staff use, it's up to the 11 bhoys on the park to play well and represent the Hoops. Apart from a few they're just not doing that.

do have some confidence in the board though i do think they should come out and back the green brigade a lot more as i think without them celtic park would be dead and they bring a lot of fans to the games these days.

Reasonably confident the Board will keep us financially secure. A lot goes on behind the scenes which we don't get to hear about and although I like everyone else feel more should have been done to get some quality into the team.

Everytime we go through a bad patch the board get blamed for everything which imho is wrong. We have a good squad that should be more than capable of winning the league so is it the boards fault so many players have been injured or are not on form?

They have done well financially but I would be lying if I said I didn't have any concerns.

Nope they havnt spent when we should have

The quality of centre backs at the club is shocking and should have been sorted well before now, either the board or the manager is at fault for this, ie lenny spent the money else were instead of building from the back or funds were not released.

As we go over the last 4 or so years i dont feel the nessasary funds were released to manager or managers, the board seemed happy with been on par with rangers and been able to compete rather than spending the extra buck to STRENGHEN THE SQUAD WITH QUALITY............... I dont think the calibre of player needed at celtic has been brought in and thats why we continue to * up in europe and at home.

I feel neil lennon has done an amzing job at the club, but has made BIG mistakes in games but he is learning and am happy with lenny at the helm, he has brought in some decent, cracking players iin the likes of hooper, kayal and izzy..... They were imo 3 wonderful signings and stoksey mulgrew and ledley are other decent players he signed and are fit to wear the jersey.

I will be very happy if we got rid of 8 or 9 players who are not good enough for us come january, and i would be happy if we trimmed the squad and brought in quality centre backs..... My views on this are not because the central area looks weak and are getting abuse just now my views on this have been the same for a few years, a dont think we have had a decent., dominant centre half at the club in a long time , since bobo or mjallby............................. And even at that mjallby left a long time ago and bobo was never used even although he was far superior than wgs,s central pairing of mcmanus and caldwell.

Am happy with them spending £9 million, take the gamble and earn champions league football rather than bringing in free transfers and been on the road to nowere while watching our biggest rivals rack up title after title, a mean its got to be worth a punt................. in the long run we are not going to go into major debt, we have players at the club that would bring in that revenue if they were to be sold:50:

I've mixed feelings on this one. On the one hand, we ARE being run responsibly. As I'm sure a lot of people here do, I've been trying to keep up with the financial happenings of other clubs in Europe (mainly through the Swiss Ramble blog and many others) and the overwhelming conclusion is that we're one of the best run clubs FINANCIALLY going.

So in defence of the board, we are the polar opposite of Rangers and *have* provided the current and past manager with sufficient resources to outgazump the huns.

So in this respect it's not the off-field side of the club that's letting the fans down - it's an onfield problem.

    however

You can point to the outrageous lack of quality at centre-half (in particular) and probably another decent striker short. Yet the "playing" side of the club identified Bangura for a sizeable £2.2m. That is I would say a fair and reasonable backing.

The final point is that perhaps we simply don't have the resources to sign better centre-halves than the likes of Majstorovic (Swedish international), Kelvin Wilson (one of the Championships best CBs) or Rogne (and to a lesser extent Wanyama) youngsters identified by the playing guys as top prospect.

The problem is not signing quality - and assuming we cannot afford £3.5m+ signings anymore then you have to point the finger at every department in the club apart from upstairs.

May I refer you to Leeds Utd, Portsmouth and the dirty huns FC
