theyll treat both cases as seperate inquests i think...im hearing a hefty 6 figure fine, nothing more, being the likely outcome.

    From the bbc website.

Uefa has opened disciplinary proceedings against AC Milan and their Brazilian goalkeeper Dida after the Champions League game at Celtic.
Dida collapsed dramatically after being struck in the face by a fan near the end of Wednesday's 2-1 loss at Celtic.
The 34-year-old was stretchered off but has been criticised for overreacting.
Uefa has already opened proceedings against Scottish champions Celtic and both cases will be heard by the control and disciplinary body on Thursday.

The incident occured after Scott McDonald had slammed in Celtic's winner late on after Dida had failed to hold a Gary Caldwell shot.
The fan, who has since been identified and banned by Celtic for life, ran onto the pitch and made contact with Dida, who proceeded to briefly give chase before collapsing to the ground.
He was eventually substituted in injury time, with Australian Zeljko Kalac coming on in his place.
A statement on the Uefa website said it had opened an investigation on the basis of article five, paragraph one of the disciplinary regulations, which state:

Member associations, clubs, as well as their players, officials and members, shall conduct themselves according to the principles of loyalty, integrity and sportsmanship.
"But the contact made with the goalkeeper was minimal. His antics have to be taken into account as well." Last week, Celtic chairman Brian Quinn accused Dida of play-acting.
"I'm making no excuses for the behaviour and the fan behaved disgracefully," said Quinn.
"But the contact made with the goalkeeper was minimal. His antics have to be taken into account as well."

Exactly. What we want is for us and Milan to play this down as much as possible.

If its more than a fine we get it would be * ridiculous, but i allways have said Uefa stand by there bigger teams like AC ect.

uefa love ac milan but they have to take notice that the rest of europe have noticed there favriotism.
at the end of the day our fan was harmless. dida tried to get the match replayed.

But if they punish Dida/Milan relatively severely then they have to punish us severely.

When a man entered the field of play at the shoe box for their UEFA Cup match and tried to handcuff himself to the posts Rangers got a £4000 fine. So regarding us it should be there or there abouts.

If players are getting 2 match bans for simulation such as the Hearts player when playing for Lithuania then I would imagine Dida will get similar.

    Much to do about nowt.

Based on the politics of European football.

    Whit ?

The politics I refer to are the politics which mean that European football is not run totally fairly. There are favoured clubs and favoured countries. You know this. It's not right, but it's real and it is concrete.

i personally belive dida will get worse than we get. i.e. he will get a game ban.
    celtic will get a fine.
what he done was worse and uefa will see this.
yes its clear they favour the big boys. but remember that the likes of hearts and hibs think that the spl favour celtic and rangers
yet celtic and rangers often get into trouble.

I hope you are right. But my cynicism about UEFA means I'm hoping that Dida gets off likely so that UEFA don't have to be seen to be dishing out 'equal' punishments.

if dida hammer milan they must see that celtic have done little wrong and the fan wasn't out there to hurt anyone.

if dida gets off with out even a fine then it means they see what the fan done as very serious and that he was genuinly hurt by the fan.
if a fan did hurt a player it would mean SERIOUS trouble from uefa to the club. see what i mean?

Sorry I still disagree. Unfortunately when these disciplinary panels investigate something it's not all about getting to who was right and who was wrong. There is also the whole political aspect for the panel to consider. That's not fair, but it's how it is. How their decision is perceived within the politics of European football will affect what decision the panel make. I still think that the panel will feel that they have to appear to be 'even-handed'. What you and me think is even handed will be very different from what an AC Milan punter would think is fair. The panel will be aware of this and, IMO, will give more weight to the repercussions of hammering Dida/Milan. It's not fair as I say, but that's how I see it.

Don't get me wrong, it would be great, and just, if UEFA did hammer Dida AND judged our thing at face value.

Everyoe is saying that UEFA favour Milan and other big clubs. This could change because there is a new leader in charge Michel Platini
