According to swiss sources we are interested to sign David Degen from Borussia Mönchengladbach/GER. He's a winger, born in 1983 and a swiss national player (his twin is philipp degen, the defender from dortmund).

    If you understand german

He's very athletic, pacey and has got a good technique. actually everything what a good winger needs. his problem is his temper and discipline. If WGS understands to treat him the right way, he will completely outclass mcgeady.

Not a big fan of McGeady so I would welcome another Left winger. Take it he's an old fashioned winger?

by taking one look at him, i say sign him:84: all the more yung foreign players the better entertainment on a saturday:84: btw what ur saying about mcgeady, remember degen is probably playing against better opposition week in and week out, and he is older in mcgeady so of course he will be better, but that doesnt matter coz mcgeady plays on the left hand side, and is degen not very much right footed?

if it was up to you we would have a bunch of hollywood actors from soap operas playing football for us. :87:

anyways I really think we need more help in the midfield still and this guy will either take over for mcgeady or push mcgeady. Either way thats good.

How I said, he got some probs with his attitude from time to time, that's why the gladbach manager kicked him outta the team. have to say they are the worst team in the bundesliga based on points, but their squad ain't that bad and especially not cheap.

however, degen would either be top or flop in scotland.

top = much better than mcgeady
    flop = kenny miller like

D'oh they called Hampden the Huns home ground :87:

I don't know why but that seems to be quite common in countries like Germany/Switzerland/Spain/Italy/France etc..

    David Degen to Celtic?

In swiss newspaper, David Degen is linked with Celtic.

Degen played this season in Germany @ Monchengladbach; just 10 games. The 24 years old midfielder did not play the last games, concerning a conflict with the coach.

He played 4 times for the swiss national team.

I hope celtic will not sign him. We don't need any young divas @ Celtic.

Celtic have handed a trial to David Degen after the Switzerland midfielder's public fall-out with Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 24-year-old still has two years remaining on his Monchengladbach contract but coach Jos Luhukay is keen to offload the player.
Luhukay believes Degen has been a disruptive influence at the club, who were recently relegated to the Bundesliga Zwei.
But Hoops boss Gordon Strachan, currently recuperating from a hip operation, has taken the opportunity to view the player at close quarters.
Degen confirmed to Record PM: "The welcome I got from Celtic was extraordinary. The manager is injured but he still came to see me to say hello.
"This felt outstanding. I'd never been treated that way before.
"Celtic is a massive club with a great tradition and, of course, I'm interested in joining."
Irrespective of whether or not he impresses Strachan sufficiently to earn a move, Degen is unlikely to play again under Luhukay.
"He was lacking concentration, unprofessional and a nuisance factor," said Luhukay.
"He did not show the attitude which you would expect.
"His head has been switched off Borussia and therefore he will train with the under-23 side for the next one-and-a-half weeks, but he will not play.
"His time has run out. He can go, if the conditions are correct."
